stevie 4 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 can anyone tell me if i will have a problem if i fit 17s to my car.i have 18" prodrives on at the moment but i am thinking of swapping them for a set of 17s but my brembos look awfully close to the lip as it is. see pic http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b59/stevie4/brembo.jpg p.s why is photobucket not working
G.Mac Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Standard wheels are 17's so they should fit, give me 10 mins and I shall take a pic of mine if you think yours are close!!!! Graeme
drb5 Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 STi 17" wheels will fit yes, but not all 17" wheels fit. You need to be careful of the offset.
stevie 4 Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 cheers guys i didn't want to go and swap my wheels and find they would not fit.it will probably be once christmas is out the way anyway
st3ph3n Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 Not all 17"s fit over. The standard STI rims do, but WRX ones don't.
stevie 4 Posted November 25, 2006 Author Posted November 25, 2006 im actually thinking about going for the same wheels on 17s as i want the car to look a little lower
Croc Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 watch out for balancing weights, as the fronts on 17s can be too tight clearance for 'normal' weights. need to be the thin type -as I found out when some numbnuts garage used 'normal' weights on them and I ended up rubbing them off for 100 yards until i stopped and went back to find out what it was
