intercooler spray question

what do you guys do with the water tank for the intercooler spray over winter ???

are you ment to empty it incase of it freezing and damaging the tank ?

or do you guys just leave it half empty or what ?

havent got one myself , but i read somewhere theres stuff to add in it, cant remember wot it is though

will have to look at the freezing point for it but i know that a 50/50 water mix can be used

and it cools it a bit more too []

but not that i'm going to need it colder at this time of year likes

Only thing you gotta watch is depending what additive you use it may stain your intercooler when used.

I use a bit of alcohol based screen wash, No freezing and quicker evaporation []

i don't bother my a@#e with it, but then i don't have auto spray so just leave it alone.

I just left mine as it was last year...and never had any problems with it

i was trying to remember if i used anything last year but as i was away for the worst part of the winter me old man had the car and it was locked away in the garage [:$]

i had one in my old mini and it run off the screen wash system (NO NEED FOR NE PUMPS OR BOTTLES) it worked fine with the screen wash mix doent damage the cooler at all. i  will be addin a touch to mine in the scoob.

if it is an import they have the auto facility. If a UK car then you get a warning light when you need to press the button.

ahh cool, its a UK and i have never had the warnin come on yet and i do give it heaps of stick

classic imports dont have auto - i need to manually push the I/C spray button

edit to add that this is the 1st winter I've had the RA - not planning to do anything to the water in the bottle [8-)]

Ive put screen wash in it before currently i have a Litre of cheap vodka in it mixed with water. It was only 3euros for the vodka and the alcohol based stuff over here is hard to come by. If you know anyone in the forces ask them to get you some AL11 its top quality stuff, i just cant get my mits on any at th mo!

no i aint worried about the temp charge at this time of year it's the bottle freezin up and cracking is what i'm worried about   []

as for the piccies, could you send me your e-mail address and i'll pop them thru buddy   []

i also have a auto button on my one, just wondering if it's a RA thing, ie cutting down on the smallest bit of weight ??
