craig mac
Valid Question i feel.... So how come you get a massive 40 plus BHP gain then from Dastek Day[*-)] Before you all start, this is not a dig as plenty of you know, Peter too, i have a lot of time for Peter and consider him a friend[] He knows i PMed him on first appearance of this thread [] Strange.............That this can happen without a remap, Dont you agree? the squiggle
On the Dastek day in Dalgety Bay, Pete's car only hit 1.2bar on the rollers and the car was mapped for 1.6-1.7bar. On Sunday the target boost level, 1.6bar, was achieved and the extra power was released Link to comment
craig mac
Grant, This does not explain why it never did at dastek though, And now it does? It hit 1.4 at Dastek Nothing has changed on the car, map not tweaked so why is the boost differant now? CraiG Link to comment

the squiggle
The first run of the day produced a figure of 371bhp for Pete but again at only at 1.2bar, an increase of 11bhp over Dalgety Bay but i believe this extra bhp came from the better cooling of the whole of the intercooler and induction. The car was then rolling roaded in 5th and the target boost of 1.6bar was hit and the subsequent results came through on the vidiprinter Pete's management system will advance the ignition in relation to the temp of the charge entering the cylinders. craig mac
You only hit full boost in top gear yes? So why are all cars not dynoed in this way top gear? Instead its 3rd or 4th? CraiG Link to comment
Gumball
looks like peter now has the most powerful newage on the mainland running a standard block. hartimer har har har hartimer har. i take it this means even more wonga will get thrown about to beat it. good result Pierre, im proud of you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the squiggle
You only hit full boost in top gear yes? So why are all cars not dynoed in this way top gear? Instead its 3rd or 4th? CraiG Seems that Pete's car is mapped for full boost in the top 2 gears but his ECU is controlling the boost and a 3rd party unit like an AVC-R would give better boost control in the lower gears> The AVC-R could be set to vary the duty cycle according to gear and rpm Second question is way outwith the realms of my knowledge, maybe need to ask Gerry as to why they use 3rd and 4th when dynoing the cars. Possibly a safety issue spinning the rollers so fast, a fifth gear pull would run the roller s from approx 40mph round to 130mph plus (Not 100% sure on the given speeds per gear on a New Age) I remember they dynoed Callum's weapon in fifth but he has really short gearing, i mean really short HTH Boss Link to comment
st3ph3n
I thought you'd given up being a wind up merchant Gumball? Did they alter the ramp rate for the big money run Grant? Link to comment
craig mac
Well if his first run was 11 bhp up on his dastek run @ the same boost, then we must assume that mine would have been up 11 too Chris [] That according to my sums, In fact would have given me 400.4 bhp[][] Mine is bigger than yours na na na boo boo [:-*] PMSL Its all in the best possible taste[] Oh and no need for more money....................[H] CraiG Link to comment
the squiggle
I thought you'd given up being a wind up merchant Gumball? Did they alter the ramp rate for the big money run Grant? The operator could not alter the ramp rate so the Heath Robinson method of using a higher gear was employed. Link to comment
Gumball
lol, you know im only commenting cos i want you two to race each other into space with the first to hit 500bhp. Thats the new target "welcome to challenge 500" for a newage that we can see, smell, touch and talk about, not the makey uppy one we heard about Link to comment
