Alan-G Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 I must say, I saw page 3 (of this thread) and thought it stopped there and me and Fab1 (Jen) had to bath wee Hollie. I was rather dissapointed at that time. I then realised after coming back to the thread just now to find others slightly miffed also. The sum amount contributed was absolutely extraordinary. (Of which we only gave a train set) but it counts. Next years will be better. I shall contact my friend Keith McLeod from the Daily Record and try to pull a better coverage. Keith is a guy that you can rely on. So, onto the Central Area Cruise. Can we be added as being nearer Falkirk than Glasgow. Much of a muchness I know, and who do we give cash too for the Aberlour fund. Imy, Squirrell are you going? We dont know anythings of the meets whatsoever, but like to help. I see CYP_rock is going, met him, his wife and of course baby Robyn. (their beautiful baby daughter). Were really new so please be gentle. Alan, Jen & wee Hollie.
micra_wrc Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Alan, public relations for Yorkhill hospital is done centrally through Greater Glasgow. there is a v. specific process that they have to follow and I have been in regular contact with them in the run up to yesterday. A press release went out to all the contacts on their 'media' list before the event and it is down to each newpaper/publication to send a journalist/photographer on Sunday if they wanted to cover it. If you have contacts at the Daily Record it will be great if you can get them to carry an article for us describing yesterday but otherwise we are pretty much at the mercy of the big cheeses that run our papers. Of course, you can also submit your stories to folk like BBC, the Metro freepaper etc if you have time (I dont unfortunately) - increases the chances that our good work gets public recognition. re Central Santa Cruise I doubt Squirrel and I will be going (we've plans that day) but we're definately going to the Edn/Lothians one next Sunday. I'm sure Paul and the other Central boys would welcome you, check out the sticky thread titled "Central Area Santa Cruise". Details of the event are contained in the thread. If you are able to make it then add your name (find the most recent post containing the list, copy it and add yourself to the next number). you need to be bold and invite yourself along to these things, there are too many folk using the forum to hand out personal invitations LoL
karps Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 hmmm does my bum look big in that pic [][][] Any publicity is good publicity folks and at the end of the day its the kids that should have the smiles on their faces. Noel
thewelsho Posted December 12, 2006 Posted December 12, 2006 Quote Quote Nice one. Didn't know there were two Asdas in Bishopbriggs. Guess who chose the wrong one? You are not alone 3 of us sat in the other Asda carpark from 11. Decided at 11.45 it must be the other one and just managed to catch the others as they left. I think map co-ordinates for meeting points would help then we can check sites like multimap to be sure. There's always next year. The other one was off the beaten track as well, too kme ages to get to it from the first one, and most of it was guess work, stumbled on it more than anything. Next year it is.
