st3ph3n Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Thought I'd post this up to see what ideas people might come up with for possible events next year. I'll start with the obvious repeats from this year: 1) Local meets as normal 2) Trackdays 3) National Day at Alford 4) Runs - the squirrel said he had 3 possibles up his sleeve for next year 5) Crail - organised club attendance like last month? 6) D1GP/Time Attack at Knockhill - great day out for all the family. 7) Rolling Road Days 8) Were we at the motorfair? I think we were. 9) F+M show Known events for next year: 1) Rally show in Lanark I've got no doubt I'm forgetting some, but I'm sure people can post up. So now for things that could be good. For me - the sprint on Sunday organised by the MLR sounds like it would be great fun, I can't "compete" this weekend, but I will probably head through for a watch. Maybe we could try this next year? Maybe we could get together with the MLR and hold a joint event, a bit of a friendly scooby vs. evo match. In fact why don't we try and liase more with the MLR and do a few joint events in Scotland. I mentioned the V-Max /top speed run thing a while back and I've not forgotten about it either. Trackdays elsewhere? I know there's not many locations in Scotland for this obviously.
craig mac Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 St3ph3n, I think there are a few of us Sheep looking to go to "The Ring" next year too[] CraiG
STi_Bandit Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 How about some more social events like karting and paintball etc Bandit
wilky Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 I was going to orginise this for this year, however the RB Relay took over my life and this fell by the wayside, but how do you fancy an SIDC weekend on my old stomping ground The Isle of Bute? Many car clubs go there from englandshire, but its normally a staging area for a blast up the west coast. I can arange a camping area at Port Bannatyne and if Johnny Bute (AKA Johnny Dumfries, have you heard of him? Won Le Mans 1988 for Jaguar? Lord Bute?) Plays the white man we could have the sprint circiut set up. People could arrive Friday night or saturday morning , camp or B and B it, then meet 1200hrs at the campsight and the fun begins. LHFOJ and Squirrel both recced this with me last year and were of the opinion it was good. However its best to keep any orginisation low key or the feds will send an unmarked car over on the ferry and they will prowel around looking for any spirited driving. Bute is in the Clyde next to millport, Arran etc for all you geographically embarraced people so its about 45 min to the ferry from Glasgow to Wymess Bay or from Glasgow through the rest and be thankful to the North Bute ferry its about 1 3/4 hours at Karps pace, fastest Ive done it was 45 min Colintrive to Balloch Roundabout. What say ye, Oh body of the Kirk?
