Did anyone follow the Red and White evo at all?

I was behind it coming into the hairpin and it spat a constant flame the whole way from hitting the brakes until getting back on the power. It was class.

Didn't seem THAT fast though.

I remember reeeling in that nice black sti bug eye on the back straight before the hairpin m8[:P]

Clear as a bell[:D]

Yeah thats right Craig, my m8 Steve was driving my car at the time, as his Lancia integrale had developed a fault and couldnt continue.[:D]

It was his first time out in my car and was getting used to the setup, he had pulled right slowing coming into the hairpin as i saw you pass [:(]

It was a busy day, and cant really remember being on track, in front of,or behind any scoobs, it seemed to be full of lotus cars when i was on.

It would have been good to have had a run with you on track tho, theres always the nxt time, as the old saying goes [:D]

By the way my m8 Steve is now considering a Scoob, as he was well impressed with the my buggy.

p.s. will have to work out the bill for him thrashing it near the end. lol lol lol [:)]

Probably one of my favourite knockhill days out. A nice spirited run up from Kincardine with Gus the bus,Stuart fae Culross, Oobster and Sheep. Oportunity Knocked for me later on when i managed to blag my way into the 6.6ltr Chevvy powered Black Ultima gtr for an expierence that i'll not forget in a while. There's a word that's banded about much to often these days but it really was awesome!

Many thanks to Stephen for tacking me out, really enjoyed that mate [y] and i must say, you have a perfect balanced car there [y]

There was 3 new age black scoobs actually. Marty in the bugeye STI, me in the blob WRX and then someone in the hawkeye 06 STI.

Plus a classic too.

The evo was quick in a straight line, but he wimped out on a few of the corners.

Did anyone do any lap times on Saturday?

Just thought about that just now out of curiousity as I used to do that when I went to the racing up Knockhill.

Unfortunately will never been the F1 car that was up there though at the Motor Fair.

Hi Dougie

Defo treat yourself to a 'hotlap' or 2 in the F1 car.  Graham is the usual guy who drives the car, and what can I say..............it's absolutely spectacular.  I'm glad I've done it, wouldn't do it again though, too scared of the speed thing. [:D]  Just kinda like to watch the race and it would seem too much of a 'woose' to take part.

Just out of curiosity Stephen......what's the difference between all those subaru's? they all looked the dogs bannanas! I meant all the black subaru's that were racing the mitsubishi!

New age cars are the three shapes of cars from 2001 onwards. You guys have a 56 plate which is known as the "hawkeye". Mine which is a 54 plate is a "blobeye" and the original 01-03 was the "bugeye" which has the round lights.

Marty's bugeye is an STI with mods. I guess 250-260bhp out the factory for that age. Mine is just a WRX so 225 out the factory, 248 on the rolling road last month. The 06 was an STI, 265 out the factory maybe and the new 2.5 engine. Mine and marty's is just the 2.0.

That help?

Thanks to John S for allowing me on the SIDC track day, was too slow in putting my name down and was 2nd reserve on the day and think he took pity on me.

Had major judder issues with the brakes for most of the sessions so didn't get as much track time as i would have liked, thanks to the guys who managed to capture some pictures of the flame action - no flamer kit required just over fueling. Some nice scoobies on track, blue STI with reg. ending Cam looked to be going well but didn't get a chance to have a play  .

Well the flame raised one of the biggest smiles of the day for me. Your car was certainly quick in a straight line, but it did look like you were having an interesting time on the brakes because my WRX with standard 4 pots and 33K mile discs was able to slow down better.

Get it booked on for the next one cos I need to see those flames again!

Cheers st3ph3n, really disappointed with the brakes since they are AP 6-pots and shouldn't really have issues like that with those brakes, tried new harder compound pads too but may have to skim the discs and try again.

Really enjoy the SIDC days since they are so well run and driving standards are good.
