Turbo and Headers Porting

Recommended Posts

ive been advised on a number of ocasions that with the car gouing to be tuned to around 330 340bhp on the standard sti turbo i should really get the headers and turbo ported to stop any boost spiking.

My question is where to get the turbo and headers ported can this be done in a day as the car is pretty much used all the time so can really afford to remove turbo and headers and haver her sitting un-usable for a week or so.

Cheers for the help guys

craig if your talking about s/s headers ive looked at a few s/s headers, and also heard a few, and personally iam dont want to go down the s/s headers route as i love the burble that the standard header give, hence the reason porting them would be more of an ideal souloution for me

lol should of bought your sti headers mate when i saw them for sale DOH.

I have St/Stl Headers mate and i still have the rumble, It just when you go equal length you loose a little of the burble.

And it screams like a super bike when revin the teets oot of it[:)]

Craig,

I honestly thought you were running GT-Spec headers :-), which are slighty unequal, hehe can a get a pax lap at knockhill and hear them at full chap inside the car. oh and fell what 380bhp fells like :-)

GT II Spec headers are still unequal but not as much as the standard jobbies from what I believe. I certainly had a nice burble when I did mine but the sound on full chat is bonerfying  [:)]

I've got some HKS unequal jobbies and it has changed the rumble a bit. Its still noticably a Subaru to about 3,000 rpm, then things start to change and all hell breaks loose at about 4,500 rpm. Bonerfying is the description above and thats good enough for me [:)]

Whatever you do, dont buy the cheap ebay/megan types as they have a bad reputation for splitting in a short space of time.
