imprezyou Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Hi guys i thought i would please you with this little bit of info........as the road highways have nothing better to spend there money on and making money is more important then sorting out our roads they in there kind wisdom have installed spec cameras on the A2 between the m25 and swanscombe cutting on both sides so be careful , not sure when they are likely to be fully operational but most of the cameras have appeared overnight. The days of a little speed seem to be dissapearing into the distance !
darryl_martin Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Thanks, have spread the word here.[:@]
Nudge Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 They are getting more crafty each day. I've worked this speeding thing out, if you sign up as a special constable, you can then drive on the public highway at speeds over 150, and just say you were testing the car out. [:^)] youd get off, coz the judge would feel sorry for you.......
STiBen Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 they can go up over night but they can also be taken down at night as well or just disconnected [6] oh i love being a sparks

HOL Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Are they by the side of the road, or on overhead gantries?
deani_age Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 They are the yellow ones normally found in roadworks that measure your average speed between them.
imprezyou Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 They are mounted on top of blue lamp post thingies and are bright yellow, there are seperate silver lamp post thingies to with dome cameras on for the bikes so WATCH IT ! bikers to.
j-k Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 The SPECS cameras are the ones in yellow housings fixed to a blue pole...normally two cameras in a single housing with filtered infra red lighting for night viewing of number plates. One of the cameras is for a number plate shot and the other is an overview of the target area. The DOME cameras mounted on the temporary posts are for the roadwork observation by the area police traffic centre (maidstone i believe). These cameras keep an eye on traffic flow etc and are used to alert the free recovery should there be a breakdown in the roadworks. Apparently these new roadworks are going to be with us for the next 18months while the south orbital roundabout(A2/M25 Junction) relief project is completed. This entails new slip roads to the M25 north and south from both london bound and coast bound A2. Hope this answers some questions.... Chaos WILL prevail no doubt... JON
imprezyou Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 Just how i was going to say it ! wel done that man
simon_levey Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Saw the buggers today. Thanks for the warning. On the way up the hill there are three sets of cameras. Don't get pas the second and think that you are safe.
yogibear Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I heared that all speed camera's etc may be banned RE: Because they dont actually save lives. They are money making devices only. There is a court case going on right now, and if found that the above, is the case, then we will know this month whether they will be made illegal, but mean time i vote for LOONY to smash all camera's, detectors etc that he can. F**k me the motorists have the biggest voice with over 30 MILLION licence holders in the UK. If all those people woke up one day stuck together and said B*****k's to all of this s**t that is thrown at us by the government etc, they would s**t themselves. Vote for Loony to do some damage....[] 1. yogibear

Yeah and pigs might fly [:^)] ya like they would get rid of something which gets them alot of free money. oh and you dont have to be a sparks to do it, it just prevents you from getting a belt from the supply when cutting it down. i know i know. ill disconnect it and loony toon can cut it down. sounds like a plan []

big jay Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Afternoon all, Just to let you know that i work on the highway maintenance and get a little bit of inside info. The camera's on the A2 will be there for about 18 months and are the variable speed cameras(buggers!!) coz their widening both sides to 4 lanes.
big jay Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 They'll take them away, won't be a permanent fixture, BUT i think when they have finished A2 they're starting on the 25 from dartford tunnel to jct3 - Swanley so there'll be more there.
yogibear Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Is your car the blue classic i see in Barnehurst?
big jay Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 no mate i've got a silver one.how come you get to live in two country's?
