kloon Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Before anyone has a go at me, this is not a complaint, just an observation ! [] Looking at the Regional area list, there are over 30 members in the Aberdeen & District area, yet we only ever seem to see the same half dozen or so folk whenever we arrange anything. Even at the SIDC National Day at Alford there was more southern Scottish members there than locals. Come on folks, show yer faces, it's good craic, really friendly folk (honest) and we got one of the best cars up here in Blue Thunder ! []
craig mac Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Here Here Kloon In the last 2 weeks we have had 2 get togethers and as you state the same old faces....all 5 or 6 of us. Where are the other 20 plus? We have a crackin laugh on our outings, [] Like Phillip W trying to keep up OOPS Slipped out....LOL sorry Phil...[] Really folks its poor show, no one seems to make an effort. Craig
philip_wilson Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 I must agree the outings we've had over the past few week have been a good laugh with a crackin group of people, and as Mr Mac said you'll get to see first hand my standard MY99 keeping up with STi's [][].
RA Dunk Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 yea ya miserable cAnts , get off yer arses and get oot and aboot []
micra_wrc Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 totally agree with what you guys are saying but bear in mind that not all folk that surf the forum are free at the times events/meets are held. Plus, you'll have the odd shy guy that may prefer to make friends through cyber space than get out and meet new folk, cos it is really daunting going to an event/meet for the first time, seeing that everyone knows everyone else and feeling very much like an outsider. nothing you can really do to motivate folk to participate, except perhaps post up good feedback, pictures etc and encourage them to come along and join in
st3ph3n Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Don't half of you sheep boys work offshore too? Not so easy to nip back for a meet if you're stuck out in the water.
RA Dunk Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 Don't half of you sheep boys work offshore too? i work offshore as well and manage to make (not all) but alot of things , this time off ive been to the SIDC day at Alford , marshalling in StoneDhaven (missed last weekends hill climb due to a abnormal growth out of one of my wheels) and im planning on going to the Speyside rally this weekend , so theres plenty of events for people go to even if they do work offshore IMY , if people did come along to some of these events they would find out we dont bite lol , were actually up for a good laugh []
philip_wilson Posted August 17, 2006 Posted August 17, 2006 sheep boys haha funny not ginger [] We have so far had a get together every weekend for the last month so even if us sheep boys are offshore there is plenty going on up this neck of the woods, so don't be shy come and say hi []

Just feel more locals could maybe make the effort, even to get talking on here, always seems to be the same folk all the time. Hopefully they'll see the pics and vids from the likes of Alford/Autocross/Fintray and will feel it's worth giving a try, they'd be more than welcome. They can even here how good Craig's car is, AGAIN !!! [] Only joking bud []
