06 WRX Tuning - anyone done any?

I have mapped a few but they are limited by the little TD04 turbo (as fitted to the earlier 2.0 UK cars) Typically 20-30 bhp can be gained from a decat/sports cat and custom remap. I'd suggest a turbo upgrade to a TD05-20G to get it running easily in the mid 300's.

Std injectors, induction and even intercooler are capable of this output.

Andy, is that just the turbo unit? Or is that along with the remap and the exhaust?

But PPP is just shy of 2k isnt it??

Those mods will net you around 70-80bhp more than PPP and might actually be cheaper than PPP if you buy the right parts at the right prices?! Who needs warranty, Subarus are meant to be one of the most reliable cars out there!! [:D][;)]

Yes, meant to be ... I'm sticking with the warranty too. Too much of a risk to do anything other than PPP - but at £1700! I think I'll be standard for some time yet!

Thats for the turbo, decat and remap. The 2.5 is pretty unstressed at 350/350 so reliability should be excellent. The 20G is a good match regards powerband and lower pressure ratio requirements of the larger engine.

With the WRX currently available for around £15k its excellent value.

I'm forgetting the 06 WRX gets the 2.5 too! Thinking it was just the STI....dunno why.

I agree, the 20G is perfect for it and i'll be selling my 20G very soon, if anyone wants it. [;)]
