drb5 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Very true Peter, but as every car has an FPR as standard, an uprated one is really just a matter of precaution and the fact it's there for later mods.
wilky Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 The thinking is that if you run out of injector duty cycle and the car still has a bit to give to reach the mapper target, he car up the fuel pressure to get the fuel in, with a standard regulator as we all know that isnt possible. He would then hypothetically look at you stone faced and say " Bring it back when you have bigger injectors and Ill tweek your map, but turn the fuel pressure back to about 2 bar until I have" Or offer you a set of injectors he has in stock. fai17 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Wilky....Does the GEMS control the fuel pump in a more controlled way???
the squiggle Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ECU controls the fuel pressure regulator on a post 99 car SARD for me as the FSE has started to gain a reputation for failing without warning and the SARD is such a small tidy unit Shop on Ebay sells them for £65 plus postage, RHDJapan
wilky Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I smell what your cooking grant but I doubt the standard one can give you 3 bar, I may however be wrong.
