slo2 Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 Changing the pads on the rear. Offside set done 10 mins tops. Drivers side both nuts are absolutly solid, soaked then with wd40, used a lever on the bar , hit it with a hammer,. Is there any other way other than brute force and ignorance ?
slo2 Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Too late just managed to round both studs ruining 1 socket and 1 ring spanner. Burning gear may be required !!!
bigdavie Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 you should have phoned me ! i would have came up and done it for you !! are they definitely rounded ?
slo2 Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Fairly round Dave Offcourse 50% is now the socket and the ring spanner. I think a box of swan vesta are required. Your welcome to come and have a look if you want. Pretty peed off as I did the other side in about ten mins. no probs.

slo2 Posted July 29, 2006 Author Posted July 29, 2006 Thanx for the offers boys think Ill have another go tomorrow with better tools. Failing that Ill take it to the professionals . Whats the easiest way to un stick the top piston / spring thing as only one of pads was worn the other was like brand new, [:'(]
euan_r Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 i have two pots what you got? if you mean sliders - bit of emery cloth and bit of mintex brake paste, c-tech something or other. It a lot better than copper grease anyways. you might want to but a bit of it on spring clips as well where indentation or in some cases opposite is.
