kloon Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 It's maybe just an Aberdeen thing but it's surprised me the amount of times i've been blanked by newage drivers in the past few weeks, don't expect a wave or a nod from them all but not one has acknowledged me, so the question is, do you newage owners look down at us classic owners or is it just a "new breed of Scooby owners" kinda thing [*-)]
craigwrx Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I certainly dont, i love the classics !! ...i think there are more than a few none community (forum) scooby drivers out there ....imo they are the ones that do not respond to a wave...
corsa Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I only wave at newage. Old cars don`t interest me nor do sports. You would be as well waving at a forester!!! Davie
dipsy Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I wave at newage and classic owners don't get a wave back
jcscoob Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 See thats just being a nob ! [:|] Why not, do you'z think your better ?? Ps, This thread should be titled .... Newage nobs ?
scientific steve Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 i find it 50/50 some do and some dont wave back, at first i felt a right gipe waving at other car drivers who never waved back but i thought about when i had me bike, at first when i was on the 125 folk with bigger bikes used to look down and would not nod of flash their light at lowley 125 riders but again one or two would, then after getting on to a bigger bike every bu@@er on a bike wanted to wave, or just about i also find it quite funny in aberdeen anyway as there is a lot of scoobs being driven by females, not saying that females should not be driving scoobs by the way, it's just funny when i have my girlfriend in the car and after i wave at a scoob being driven by a female she pipes up 'and who the bloody hell is that then????? ' i now am at ease with the fact that i am a gipe or so i've been told []
david_taylor Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I only wave at newage. Old cars don`t interest me nor do sports. You would be as well waving at a forester!!! Davie Thats cos your a t!t! Who do you think you are, some high and mighty newage man thats better than classics and above them. I think not, you probably have no mates I guess!
4Hero Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 He could be on a windup... or he's a plonker (one of the two). I drive a newage and wave at all impreza's, get a wave back 53.5% of the time according to my statistics []
mrs. jc scoob Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Hi, As you may remember I used to have an MY00 wagon which I loved but I crashed it, so I then bought a newage as I thought it was better for the kids as it is has more airbags and other safety stuff I like my car but I much prefered my classic to drive it much more of a drivers car,so I have decided that when my youngest now 6 months old is big enough to climb into the car himself I will get what I should have got in the first place an STI Type R V5/6 it is my favourite scoob and I would not be downgrading at all. I wave at all scoobs as we are a 2 scoob house, classic and newage the newage is the family car and the classic is the fun car[]
RS Grant Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I think the people that say they only wave at Newage are having a laugh at your expense... Bit of a wind-up me thinks. [] Its a clear fact that the more affordable the Impreza becomes in any shape or size, the more and more non-enthusiasts have bought them for a quick thrill ride without any intention to become involved in the Owners Clubs........... which has reduced the number of 'wavers' on the roads. IMO. [] Cheers, Grant
col666 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I Think/hope Corsa's on the wind up! I only tend to wave at Modded looking scoobs/STI variants ,classic and newage as they are more likely to be driven by enthusiasts. Most new-age cars are driven by reps who dont have a clue about them really. Col. p.s. saw a nice blobeye sti in black earlier in dundee, with pink solberg pig stickers on side window, WIY?
andy Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I wave to all and probably get about 50% waves back. I also have a special one-fingered wave for BMW drivers []
billyboy Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Being a new age driver i know what you mean.I wave to all Impreza drivers regardless of what they drive. I'm from Castlemilk so i aint no snob.LOL! Billyboy.
Mako Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Col, the black Sti with the piggy's is me mate Bob's. Sure he went on the last Dundee run with you guys. On the subject of waving, the wife and I wave at all scoobs, classic and newage. find it 50/50 on return of wave [] Russ
jcscoob Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 This is Bobs motor, he was on the last run, nice car ! []
col666 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Oh aye ,remember it now as it was the only newage there! I was in the stealth diesel Vectra being driven by the other half so he wouldnt of seen me. Col.
STi_Bandit Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I wave at all subaru owners, even if some times you get the what are you waving at look from the driver [] Martin
corsa Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Just thought a Sunday wind was due, just goes to show how many folks jump the gun. As they say in Liverpool calm Down, calm Down. have a nice day all. BTW was out today waved at 4 3 of which waved back[]
yogibear Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I always flash or wave at all scooby's old, or new, but what makes me laugh is, that i do it when i'm driving my van LOL then i get some odd looks he he
gus the bus Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I wave @ all impreza drivers. its 50/50 whether you get a wave back from newage or classic owners. When I was out with Marty on Friday night we waved @ one classic (got a flash back[Y]) waved at a newage parked off Half loaf roundabout in Bathgate and you would have thought we had horns in our heads [] ............and we were in a newage[] I think there are a lot of owners out there not into the Subaru community thang. Sad but true[]
STi_Bandit Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Ive noticed round here or maybe its just me that alot of the newages are drivin by "suits" who have just bought the car and dont understand the whole waving idea. just my opioin of course Martin
Gumball Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 I DONT WAVE AT ANY SCOOBS. its gay and childish and if you want to wave at people go to the waving society for goats.
