st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Any of you people who're a bit retentive about the old car washing then I must HIGHLY recommend one of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POORBOYS-WORLD-FOAM-...1QQcmdZViewItem I ran out of my swissol car bath stuff and had been shopping about looking for other ideas and came across the foam gun on a few sites. Eventually spied it on ebay complete with soap that gets a really good write up and took the plunge. A tiny drop of the soap mixed with some water in the jug then hooked up to the hose results in basically snow coming out of the gun and coating the car. Then just wipe it with a decent cloth/wash glove thing and you're laughing. The results are absolutely immense and it was well worth the purchase. [y][y]
G.T. Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 64.99 poorboys fffs. how long should that last stephen does look good though
st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2006 Author Posted July 21, 2006 Not cheap admittedly. I've spotted the gun for £55 elsewhere with no soaps included. The soap itself will last for 50-75 washes even with my over enthusiastic "f**k me it's snowning in july" approach. Then it's just a case of buying more of the soap and it's not expensive. My car was filthy this morning from a really horrid rain shower the other night then a trip on a dusty farm road this morning and I basically didn't need to wipe it, the gun did all the work.
G.T. Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 50 to 75 washes is a lot i suppose and im for anything that makes washing your car easier. birthday tomorrow wonder if i could say i bought it for a pressie for myself oops already done that with als ipod

st3ph3n Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 can you do me too? You're lovely and everything Sharon, but I'm aff women for a while. Too much trouble. The rest of ye can get tae f**k. I had to do the entire thing just about one handed. Looks well good now though. The coat of wax for the d1 weekend is still doing its job. Only problem is that it's getting used as a wedding car tomorrow and the Bride happens to be staying in a house up a dirt track for the week and so it wont last long.

wrxmania Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I have been living on http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk recently - spent a while with the Poorboy's wheel wax - great stuff and about to use Natty Blue Paste Wax too. Instead of Swissol. Brian []
craigwrx Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I have an attachement that goes on the end of my karcher ...basically does the same thing, but i have never yet found a "soap product" that will "lift" the dirt without using some elbow greese before rinsing.
