Not me mate lol i have one its PELE as usual lol[:$]

Do you need a passport for France? thought that was the whole point of the EU so you can go from one country to another [*-)]

Sure do - its my understanding that in future it should only be necessary to carry an identity card but until someone out there agrees on whether we have id cards or not.............Given the way they check / don't bother to check passports at the Shuttle terminals it might be possible to go and return without one but wouldn't want to try it in the present climate.

Your right there, i used to go from the uk through france then into

spain and never get checked and the another time would be checked at

every check point [;)]

When i took the scooby over there they kept pulling me over to ask what it was !!!!!!

are we gonna meet up somewhere and have a little [au][au][au][au][au][au] to folkstone, or we all making our own way to terminal.

Not got that far yet with the planning Dan.......thought we'd probably meet in the terminal although no reason why we couldn't go in [au][au][au][au][au] Will keep everyone posted nearer the date

[sn] Club diary seems to be free on Saturday 16 September . The outbound Shuttle is at  [O] 07:58 (arrives 09:33 local) and return 21:33 (local) arriving back at 21:08. This gives us a good amount of time over there for a drive round, stopping for [D][pi][C] etc and shopping/duty frees on the way back .This is going to work out at £44 per car. Check-in is 30 minutes beforehand. Its going to be down to you individually to make the bookings etc and ensure you have passports, correct travel documents etc etc. [;)]

bttt for the benefit of any newbies looking for a club day out [sn][sn]

As its less than a fortnight away I thought I'd detail the present plans for the day. We need to check-in at Eurotunnel at 07:28 for our 07:58 Shuttle - we can either meet in the terminal or convoy down from Notcutts in which case I would suggest we meet up for a 06:45 departure, giving enough time at the terminal for a coffee, picking up a paper, funny money etc etc. The Shuttle should get us en France [sn] at 09:33 local time. I propose that we then drive south-east towards Arras, a distance of about 80 miles so if we go direct we should be there for just gone 11. Arras has two cobbled squares lined with 17/18th century houses, an historic town hall, arcades, restaurants and bars. I also believe Saturday may well be market day. Plan on parking up and spending time here 'sightseeing' and having lunch. We could  then move on across country westwards towards Montreuil and then head north along the coast road towards the Shuttle - this is about another 105 miles. There are some nice restaurants along that coast road where we could stop for an evening meal. We need to check-in for our return shuttle at 21:03 so if we get back to the terminal say by 20:00 it gives us time for duty-frees ,coffees, toilet etc. These are my general thoughts which we could tailor on the day although I'm not intending to spend ages arguing the toss about where we go, what we do and so on. We all have our own tickets so if people are really unhappy about the plans they're free to do their own thing although that would be a shame as its possibly our first club venture abroad. Would be glad to receive constructive comments or critisism from anyone thats going. Please make sure you have all the required travel documents for yourself and your car and everything else that the [sn] people insist we have to take. Assuming everyone booked on line remember that when you produce your booking confirmation at the terminal you must produce the credit card it was booked on.

Sit back now and await comments...............

Sounds like a plan to me![Y]  looking forward to it, not sure if it's been mentioned earlier in the thread but it may be an idea for us to make sure we have a way to keep in contact, mobile numbers or walkie talkies??

Posted

got a mobile but no walkie talkie - whats everyone else got?  only 6 cars going so hopefully we can keep together - will try to sort out maps of some sort or another and hand them out either on the Friday or the day itself.

As far as I can determine we need to make sure we each have the following - spare bulbs, GB sticker, warning triangle , 1st aid stuff, paperwork (registration documents , mot, insurance ) driving licence and I believe, a hi-vis jacket or vest and oh yes, cash to cover any on-the-spot fines lol  Also tickets and credit card they were paid with . We probably don't need to each carry a triangle or 1st aid kit and no doubt someone will point out anything else we'll need !  Iknow that most of this is common sense but thought I'd chuck it in as a reminder guys and gals [:(]
