G.T. Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 hello and welcome mr badger i find it strange that no one has mentioned anything about growling at the badger yet oh well guess ill be the 1st to put the thread in the gutter as usual
mrbadger Posted June 23, 2006 Author Posted June 23, 2006 Got my wagon back this evening. It's been in for a service and it's 2nd timing belt change of it's life (@ 70k - just to make sure). It also had fan belt change, new original filter, new Silkolene10/50W ProS, new gearbox oil, new diff oil, dot 5.1, and Goodrich braided brake hoses. Lubricants and fluids with thanks to Guy @ Opie.... Why is the oil pink? lol I'm now taking it easy for a couple of days to let everything settle in. The brakes are a major improvement with pedal feel down to the braided hoses and dot 5.1. Found my rear struts have a leak (might be something to do with the handling eh??). This will need to be looked into. Anyway.... Still recovering from that Rest&BeThankful trip. I did rest and am thankful I made it!! It was good to meet those of you who were there! And now I have replaced my keyfob battery!!! Thanks for the welcome everybody!!
jcscoob Posted June 23, 2006 Posted June 23, 2006 jc scoob - they r beautiful wheels - what are they, size, colour and make etc...? Cheers m8[y] There 17" tarmac silver, from wheelbase direct ! []
lazscooby Posted June 24, 2006 Posted June 24, 2006 Welcolm Mr Badger, still need brakes? I just put EBC red stuff discs and pads on my99 uk and cant fault them. they stay this colour too. hope this link works first one ive tried
mrbadger Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Ok, to keep you up-to-date. I found why my car handling has a lot to be desired - Struts are leaking! Have now ordered KYB AGX adjustable struts and Eibach pro springs (-30mm). Also thrown in is a Whiteline ALK. I'll fit these sometime this week. Also, I've ordered some ICE including 6.5" components for the front and Vauxhall Corsa speaker spacers. I had to get some bits from a rude-boy Corsa! As the leaky struts were a little unexpected, I'm gonna take it easy for a while and just go with that, until I save a bit more for my exhaust, wheels and tyres, (I like the look of the red wagon on the Revolution website and am very tempted by these similar rims - http://www.rarerims.co.uk/product_details_...d=9&pcd_id= with Toyo R1 215/35x18 ) and also a trip to see Andy F for an Apexi and Map, Uprated rear anti roll bar and droplinks.
colin_ross Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 That's quite a list. There must be loads of money in computers these days.[]
sheep Posted June 26, 2006 Posted June 26, 2006 Duncan here is my waggon with the same rims except in gunmetal
mrbadger Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 lol... Thats my wishlist - not what I'm getting - well, not yet anyway! No money in computers, i've heard banks have lots tho. Was planning on going to see them tonight when I'm on the nightshift about 2am ... I must feed my scooby modding addiction! Remember what I said to you PlayS... I do like your beast of a motor - well thought out and executed
mrbadger Posted June 26, 2006 Author Posted June 26, 2006 Sheep - Very nice wheels mate. Are they heavy compared to standards? I don't think I've met you - but I'm sure u r in at least one of the pics from the BBQ run. http://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/708612/ShowPost.aspx
sheep Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I didnt notice any difference in the weight of the wheels, and i wasnt at the bbq as i dont follow the rest of the flock[]
mrbadger Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 I actually cleaned the car and forgot I'd taken pics to prove I'd cleaned it! [:$] There aren't enough pics of wagons on here anyways... Here are the most recent pics b4 and after lowering and pretty much new suspension... errrr.... I think the darker pic is the more recent one and it doesn't look any difference. I guess the suspension was really shot as now it handles really well[] Saving my pennies for those 18's and new rubber....
wrxmania Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 C&C - the business - they'll do you a good job. Their unit has red shutters on a row with red shuters [] Brian.
wrxmania Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Nice looking wagon BTW - almost makes me want one []
