david_taylor Posted June 2, 2006 Posted June 2, 2006 All Have a look at the attached video....think we should all take a minute to look at this and always remember three things: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/b11ff09...d1f0407df04.htm A. Speeding aint clever at most times! B. Never drink and drive! C. We are all human, even if some think we are invincible. This really made me think about how I drive! Take Care All! Dave
oobster Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 now says "video was removed because it was inappropriate"
TheTerminator Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 I managed to watch it before it was removed [] In the end we are all human, and should respect a car we drive just as much as other road users. A sad end to a young life.
david_taylor Posted June 3, 2006 Author Posted June 3, 2006 Did not want to put a downer on anyone, but it makes you think. I dont know about you guys but sometimes I feel the scooby seems to provoke people into driving like idiots! I was coming from grangemouth to skinflats last night, the straight before the village. Had one of those MG(rover) sports whatevers in front. Seen he was slowing down and speeding up from the reek comin out of his exhaust. I never speed in towns or anything! He pulled out to overtake the car in front, even though I was not and that there was a car comin head on. People that know the road will realise that you can easily get three cars across. The car ahead had to nearly mount the curb to avoid a head on! I had a look, it was a young mum, with a kid in the back! Was raging!! Got the missus to note the reg plate, called the cops when I got in! They admitted they could not do anything, but took the reg. Hope they pull the guy a few times!
thewelsho Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Quote This really made me think about how I drive! Point taken; to an extent. By that I mean the circumstances surrounding his death. He was emotionally unstable (like most Americans) and he was tanked up on Tequilla. He wasn't in a fit state to drive at 30mph. let alone 130mph. So to take this fatality and apply it to speeding across the board, I think is incorrect. Not that I condone speeding, I do not, though we all do it to some degree, but at the same time, the young man's case here is an exception. It wasn't so much "HOW" he was driving but "THAT" he was driving; I think there is a difference. Therefore, if one takes to driving under simialir circumstances as the young gentleman who suffered this fatality (which I seriously doubt), then it ought to serve as a wake up call. John
dan_jess Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 My cousin was killed in a car accident last year, he was a passenger and the guy he was with was overtaking in a silly place. Now the guy is going to jail and will no doubt regret what happend for the rest of his days. I miss my wee cuz!
