RS Grant Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Mondeos are decent enough cars... fond memories of lift-off oversteer in my old Mk2 '00 Zetec. Haha!! [] Cheers, Grant
RS Grant Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 I provoked it by fitting P-Zeros (poor in wet) to the rear and Eagle F1s (good in wet) to the front.... [] Cheers, Grant
st3ph3n Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Haha. I've got cars in GT4 fitted with Qualifiers on the front and the hardest rubber known to man on the rear. Great for a powerslide. Better in real life I imagine. I could tell a good courtesy car story, but I'm afraid I'd possibly libel myself.
scoobykev Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 nothing handles like a courtesy car.......except for a hire car Or the works transit van[]
scientific steve Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 nothing handles like a courtesy car.......except for a hire car Or the works transit van[] thats how i learned how to handle rear wheel drive cars perfect for slow speed power slides []

St3phen, I think you should relate this probably amusing story that happened to an old friend of yours! Andy P.S. was that you on the M8 this morning about 8.45am?
st3ph3n Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Indeed it was Andy. I was heading to work a bit later than normal. That old friend of mine [] once hung out the backend of a works Nissan pickup truck whilst pulling out of a junction at low speed. Once he knew how to do it he was sideways the rest of the day.
bigdavie Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 omg they gave me a 06 plate 2.0 tdci ghia x !! and it is rubbish !! stalls at the slightest thing !! impossible seating position ! uncomfy heavy steering shiny plastic steering wheel unbelievable im phoning tomorrow for a vectra !
st3ph3n Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Vectras as courtesy cars is not a good mix. I went through front tyres in mine ever 6-8K, if I was driving it like a courtesy car I doubt I'd have got 1K out of them.
bigdavie Posted May 23, 2006 Author Posted May 23, 2006 used to taxi a vec so at least i know what i'm in for !! just cannot believe the crappiness of that mondeo !! its not even cracked a thousand miles yet !! and ive already managed to pull a bit of centre console off !! do you think the hire company will swap the car for me ??
H Wrx Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 D'oh - handed in my WRX to Town & County Subaru for its 30,000 mile service and they gave me a Seat Arosa 1.0 l!!![]
