david_taylor Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Hi all Brother in Law got his first scoob on Thursday. Decided to go a run in the cars, as he is still gettin used to it. Went up the callendar and aberfoyle roads(they are made for subarus!). Took some scenic photos of the cars, got to do it eh! I also had the pleasure of blasting a Chrysler Crossfire on the motorway, anyone know whats in those? Hope you like, David Attenbourgh eat your heart out!
paulc555 Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 Dave Went that way myself today....had a picnic in Aberfoyle and then a blast across to Calander.....Thats the route that the Central crew went on last summer.......The hairpin at Loch Katrine just cracks me up...accelerating away up over the crest...yee haaaaa Actually went to see how the new suspension set up was on the twisites and it was everything I hoped for......roads were a bit greasy though......with it raining ..not raining...raining..so on... Glad you both had a good day.. cheers Paul
david_taylor Posted May 21, 2006 Author Posted May 21, 2006 Aye, the road is great fun! I was held back by some motorbikes over the aberfoyle part after loch Katrine. Plus the dip on the straight next to loch Venacher caught me out. Actually took off for a second, and came out of the seat. Great fun all the same!! Kept having to slow down to let stephen catch up right enough! Were you in Aberfoyle around 2? I seen a car like yours, I was havin a bottle of beer in the pub beer garden. Dave
shaun_odonnell Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 That road is awesome and requires a lot of concentration. Some nasty drops if you overshoot the corners towards the top. Can always guarantee to get stuck behind at least one car, well at least until the next straight anyway. Another good road is from Fintry over the Crow Road into Lennoxtowm. Road surface is pretty crap though.
gus the bus Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Those pics were taken @ the side of Loch Lubnaig opposite side of the loch fae the cabins if I'm right. I should be I used to work in the Forest behind that xx years ago[:$] Great roads around there even in a Forestry Commission van[]
TheTerminator Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Gus, was the van as quick in the twisties LOL.....
gus the bus Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Quote Gus, was the van as quick in the twisties LOL..... eh, depended how well you pushed it[] certainly a lot less stable[]. Managed to put one well off the forestry rd up near Gartmore[:$] Its better fun when your not paying for it tho[][]

david_taylor Posted May 22, 2006 Author Posted May 22, 2006 How typical is that. Decided to wash the car about half an hour ago. Had a half day, and after watchin the da vinci code, thought I would give the car a polish after yesterdays exploits! Went to garden shed and got hose, attached up, gave the car a rinse to get dirt off, filled bucket with shampoo.......started bucketing down!!! Needless to say car is now in garage, wet and un washed! Weather in this country is tryin some times!
