need some advice re replacing centre section of exhaust

Hi all,

 

what a day it was on Sunday.  I couldonly manage to join in from Bothwell services to Happendon services then the Stilring services.  The noise in the car parks from all the different exhausts was amazing.  I recently put on a scoobyworld ninja backbox and thought that would do me but after Sunday i am thinking about replacing the centre section.

 

Scoobyworld have a centre section for the ninja back box that appretnly doesn't remove any of the cats on the new age imprezas.

I have a couple of questions which i hope you can help me with.

 

1) will this add some bhp to the performance of the car?

2) would it cause any trouble with the warranty from subaru?

3) will this make the car sound better?

1) no real noticeable gains

2) warranty should be ok, as you are not removing cats, phone your subaru garage and ask, i have heard b4 that sometimes if they fit it for you then it is ok.

3) you will get abit more noise, i know i did with my old UK300 when i did it []

for a "light" modification why not replace the cat pipe. This is basically the pipe between your downpipe and mid-section which you could replace too. There are a few companies who will do this try fleebay. Makes a wee bit difference and the sound should be a bit deeper without being deafening!

Was it you with the black WRX @ Happendon? Talking to myself and Oobster.

PS neither should affect your warranty but worth checking with your local dealership!

Agree with Gus :- do the decat link pipe & get an unsilenced centre section :- small power gains and nice growl too...

I had that before with a Prodrive WR back box and it was nice and deep yer refined on the motorway @ 80 mph.

Yup - do the centre section AND the last cat pipe - well worth it.

Look around the For Sale section on here & on SNet - a matching pair appear fairly regularly!
