granby Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 THANK YOU for the time & effort you put in to make the Kent Scoobies part of the RBMR work, it was a brilliant day and ran like clockwork, it is also a day i will not forget in a long time and seeing Richard Burns dad and 2 of Richards rally cars was the icing on the cake, once again well done Dean and i think you should be in line for promotion []
matthew_buckland Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Totally agree wiv you Granby it was an awesome day and Dean did really well.... I was just a bit dissapointed that everyone cleared off home at the end of the day and didn't tell us they were leaving, i was looking forward to a scooby convoy home[]. Apart from that a great day was had by all. A fitting tribute to a someone as much loved as RICHARD BURNS. Well done all.[]
granby Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 As if the little convoy we had going up there wasn't enough for you [] []
tony_cousins Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Well done Dean for sorting out the Kent side of things but the main man behind this and someone who should not be forgotten was Callum who put so much time and devotion into this project, showing not only his love for subaru,s but also his devotion to one of the greatest motoring legends of all time and without him this would have never happened. Such a great turnout even though the weather was against us but as usual a simple thing like rain never put us off from supporting such a good cause and making the day special. It was great to catch up with some old faces Keith, Kip, V5 and also with some new faces too, nice to meet you HairyDJ !!! and you were right the hair goes with the name !!!!!![] Thank you also to Prodrive for opening there doors to us all and allowing us to have a look around such a fantastic facility and to see such a fine collection of cars, also to all those who took time out and attended despite the bad weather. Cant wait for the sun to come out and the summer meets to start [] It was a truly once in a lifetime event which I think we will always remember in our hearts see you all soon Tony P.s. Pics to follow
Dalthegooner Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Couldn't agree more. Well done and thanks to Dean for all of the hard work in sorting out the Kent section of the relay it was a great success and well done to Callum for coming up with the idea and all of the hard work in arranging the event. It was a great day and we enjoyed it immensly. [Y][][H]
shrek Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Not much more that we can say, that hasnt already been said. But a big thanks and well done to Dean, he organised everything very well. It was nice to see so many Kent cars! It was a great idea that Callum came up with, and amazing how everything seemed to fall into place, without any major problems.[Y]
HairyDJ Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I'd just like to add my thanks - I know I've already mentioned it to those of you who now own an "arrival at Prodrive" piccie of yourselves, but you guys were so well organised and friendly to Chrissy and me that it kicked the day off to a fantastic start which just kept the buzz going all day. The Kent leg wouldn't have worked so well if there hadn't been loads of effort behind the scenes - when it comes together like this it isn't just luck!! Cheers, David P.S. that heavyweight jacket came in pretty handy later in the day
The Guru Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Dean, Thanks for all your hard work in sorting the kent side out and Fox's Subaru as well, they are a nice bunch of lads. Thanks for including the rally car in the photo shoot, I hope good things come from it. Please let JK and I know when you intend to sort out the next event, I am sure it will be as good as this one was. Thanks again. Arron + JK.
j-k Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Sent my thanks via text.....well done dean once again A very professional approach and very well organised..and as Arron has already said, we are hopeful we can strike a deal with FOX'S SUBARU.... Thanks jon
Pele Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I can't add much more than has already been said, but I can still say well done to Dean for his hard work in organising the KentScoobies relay and the sponsorship from Foxs. I must admit that I was very dissapointed with the speed of the relay, after all the posts that it was not to go over 70mph - everyone kept shooting off and at times we were doing well over the speed limit to catch up with everyone, which I think spoiled it for a lot of people who brought the family along and then ended up having to race everywhere to keep up. I must now say a very big thank you to Callum, the main man in all of this. Richard Burns was his hero and idol, yet he selflessly gave up his seat in the safari car to be auctioned off for charity - something I don't think a lot of people would have done. That moment choked me up no end, so I arranged for him to be driven back to the garages in it instead, and the most memorable moment of this day for me was seeing his face as he was driven past in his hero's car, pure joy. I have been to Prodrive for a visit before, but this day is the one that will stay with me for a very long time, a day full of emotion and remembrance. RIP Richard Burns
markie Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I can add no more than what has been said allready, only to say that we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience[Y] the memories of this day will last forever[] it was a fitting tribute to Burnsies life[Y][H] Dean you deserve a [Y] well done mate[] And a huge congrats to Callum[Y][Y]
DAMONHILL Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Well done Dean, well done Callum, well done everyone who joined in to make it a day to remember!
darryl_martin Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 A great day, a massive well done to Dean, Callum and all the other RO's for getting it organised. Only lost the convoy once coming out of the services before prodrive. Wouldn't have minded if I'd known where I was going[:$][:$]!! Fortunately I had about 80-90 people following me who did know[] An excellent day, proud to be a part of it.
