wilky Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 looks the part mate! what happend to yous going to KH today? I hoped everyone would have seen my post, Im sorry I never made it but I had a bit of excitement with flames licking the bottom of my car. Oil was blowing back off of my sump onto my upipe joint and catching fire. The leak was discovered to be coming from where the dipstick goes into the sump and was repaired. However, thats was only the start of the dramas. My top rad hose blew into smithereens and I mean smithereens!! It just wasnt up to the job, so I need a samco one. If that had happened on track at full chat It would have ended in tears. Its a blessing in disguise. Ill have all the niff naff and trivia ironed out by the next one. Sorry if I let anyone down. Callum W
teknopete Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Callum, U did the right thing m8 by not risking it. Would be a disaster to see all u r effort wasted. No worries we can wait and see it when it`s ready 2 rock [] Good luck with it m8 Pete
rapidcossie Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 know what you mean mate with things staring to break... whne you upgrade and engine by such an amount EVERYTHING under the bonnent will need uprated too, tanks, hoses mounts etc
tino Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Very nice indeed, you must be proud, (and skint!) They say the best things in life are free, 'they' never owned a high spec Subaru []
wilky Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Im going to do all the hoses, because it will just turn into a domino fest and I really cannot be ersed with all the fannying around. Everything else is uprated, just the hoses so they are the obvious weak link, oh and the jubilee clips holding them on as well, they will get launched as well. The coilovers are going to a good home as well, my old bones cannot take it anymore, im putting uprated struts back on. Then I may sell the thing. Any decent offer will be concidered, and Ive only really run it in. Callum W
col666 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 SELL IT?! dont do it! What the hell would you replace it with?! Engine looks amazing but have you got any pics of the actual car? want to see what the rest of the beast looks like!
drb5 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I agree, it is a mad thing to do, sell it once it's finished, but some people just like carrying on and moving onto something else. I know i will be putting mine up for sale now, purely as i have debt, which i'd like to be rid of. I don't know what the car is capable of, but i'm certain it's a lot more than most people can deal with and maybe Callum is thinking, that now he's done it and got it out of his system, he'd like to sell "while the iron is hot". It's a well known car now and i dare say a few peeps may well jump at the chance to buy it now, rather than later on. Good luck to you Callum, in whatever happens. [H]
paddy247 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 To sell it, youd be crazy with all the effort and time thats gone in to it I think to sell it, you would have to run the car and prove its worth/reliability, Im not so sure you would get all yer investment back either. So keep it and enjoy it m8, you know it makes sense[]
andrew_forrest Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 It depends upon what you get the enjoyment from, building them or driving them ? I guess it's like saying to the guy who climbs Everest " You have gone to all that effort, what the hell you coming back down for, why don't you stay there " []
john_robertson Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Arguably the best on the market http://www.mikalor.co.uk/ John.
Gumball Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 It depends upon what you get the enjoyment from, building them or driving them ? I guess it's like saying to the guy who climbs Everest " You have gone to all that effort, what the hell you coming back down for, why don't you stay there " [] cos you would run out of oxygen[]
andrew_forrest Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Ok, so it was a poor analogy... although you could argue that if he kept driving the scoob he would run out of petrol []
ANDYJDMSTI Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Ok, so it was a poor analogy... although you could argue that if he kept driving the scoob he would run out of petrol [] you could say that but there are plenty of garages about whereas i do not see many ""AIR ' O ' MARTS" frozen to the side of Everest. [][] Ill get me coat!! []
wilky Posted May 3, 2006 Author Posted May 3, 2006 Ok ok, im not selling it relax, It was just a comment. and yes paddy I will be proving it worth, without laughing gas. And once Ive done that, I will give it some laughing gas. So work it up ye.
Gumball Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Ok, so it was a poor analogy... although you could argue that if he kept driving the scoob he would run out of petrol [] pretty one sided argument at that i would think you win[]
paddy247 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Glad to hear it Wilky, 9 or 10s then, let the cat out the bag!
