robert_mcdermott Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Hi all, Since I am stuck in work today I thought I would spend my morning doing something worthwhile. So I joined the SIDC and the forums! So, what's the "secret SIDC wave" then?
RA Dunk Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 hey welcome aboard , dunno nothing about a secret SIDC wave (unless the others havent told me about it lol) just a normal wave is fine where ya from and what kind of scoob do ya drive?
robert_mcdermott Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 "what kind of scoob do ya drive?" Well, it's all my mate Ken's fault. I needed a new car, had a go in his Terzo, the rest is history. I have had my Deep Red Mica MY99 for 9 months now. Decat H&S and PPP kit notwithstanding, it's completely standard. It's even still on 16" wheels! And there might be another new start coming soon. I don't know if Ken has shares in Fuji Heavy Industries or Shell, but he's managed to convince another of our mates to buy a Scooby too!
vicki Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Hello and Welcome [] So, what's the "secret SIDC wave" then? As far as I am concerned it's when you see another scooby, get very excited in the build up to passing it, go scarlet, then wave like a maniac. I will calm down when I get used to it lol One day I passed one in the next street going over a ramp together very slowly, we both had windows down so didn't wave, just smiled. (I nearly said hiya [:$])
STi_Bandit Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Hello and Welcome mate, Hope you have many miles of happy motoring Martin
st3ph3n Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 If you see one in traffic and you're going to pass it at speed it is customary to drop a gear and floor it so they can hear the burble too.
micra_wrc Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 welcome RabMcD, hope you enjoy the forum [] not really a SIDC secret wave as such, more of a scooby wide wave. (I nearly said hiya [:$]) Vicki, LOL i was like that when i first passed scoobies in my car. have now learnt to do the more sedate "manly" (ie controlled) nod and wave on the outside but am giggling like mad on the inside [] might just be me but i get really hyper when i get a wave back [H] imy
Gumball Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 I used to wave but now i see a scooby coming and slump down in the seat and drive past as if theres no one in the car with the lights flashing. That way they go to the subaru dealership and ask for one of the newages that drives itself[][] And sounds like a Vauxhall corsa
Ken 275 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 I always wave at fellow Scoobsters, but sometimes I forget I'm in my Dad's Volvo. I've also had a few pre-emptive salutes from Evo's around here, mostly good natured ones too. Keep up the tradition guys, it's another key part of Subaru ownership - like mega fuel and insurance costs, modding and the Community. You can take the man out of the Subaru but... K.
wilky Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Welcome, I hope you enjoy your car as much as I enjoy mine. Callum W
fai17 Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Welcome on board m8. Lifes great with a scooby.......
