~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Tested my new digital cameras move taking capability last night to record my WRX's sound track http://www.shand-online.co.uk/index_files/...ScoobySport.wmv You like ? CGS
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 My 4 year old trusty Canon has been replaced with a Sony DSC-T9 []
FastScooby Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 what a lovely sound... at least you remembered that you forgot the camera []
craig mac Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Cal I think i know that road?[] Nice note, never heard it when you came in to Portlethen Though................Aye Spotted in ma Patch laddie....[] Craig
stephen_cheyne Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Sounding nice Cal, good sounding dump valve as well. [] Stephen.
clutdav Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 My 4 year old trusty Canon has been replaced with a Sony DSC-T9 [] Yep the T9 is a nice peice of kit - really compact but with all the bells and whistles you could ever really want from a digital camera. I have the T3 and used that to make the movie I put together a while ago. The actual picture quallity of the movies is great. Is it still the same that you need the high capacity MemoryStick Pro Duo card to get the top quality video capture?? Dave
STi_Bandit Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 That sounds the dogs cal, nice to know what the tsl stuff will sound like iam looking at the TSL downpipe on mine when i save up a few pennys. Do you need a remap with the sports cat down pipe or does the wee engine management light come on? Martin
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 No remap necessary but best for max gains. No CEL light whatsoever as there is still a cat in there so the sensors do not throw up a CEL. Tis the way of the future I tell thee. I mgiht lose a few ponies over a full decat but if I am pulled by the rozzers I have no fear plus I dont have to muck around come MOT time........... I still need to fit my decat up-pipe though but i may as well wait and mate it to a TD04 Hybrid Turbo. Cheers CGS
micra_wrc Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 O/T oooh, there's someone else that's not gone down the decat route. Cal, do u think ur engine will be stressed/damaged by leaving the cat on? i was planning to keep the cat on mine (agree with u about messing about b4 MOT) but believe that the engine may have to work a bit harder than if i took the cat off imy PS - ur car sounds nice []
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 If these guys can run 380 bhp with a Milltek Sports Cat then it cannot be a bad thing ! http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/tunergp.asp "Power from the Twin scroll 2.0 standard JDM engine was 380bhp and a massive 507Nm of torque" CGS
Spaceman Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Car sounds great mate. What dumpvalve you got on it? Cheers greig
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 Cheers Greig - I am surprised by how it sounds from the outside without being obtrusive @ motorway crusing speeds. It's ideal for what I want and doesn't peeve my neighbours too much whilst ice scraping on a frosty morn... DV is a Turbo XS RFL :- see below http://www.fastwrx.com/turrflbovkit.html
Spaceman Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Another wee quick Q for you Cal where did you get the Turbo XS? did you have to import it? Cheers greig
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 14, 2006 Author Posted April 14, 2006 I bought it used from a guy on here........ AWD in Perth can get them but they ultimately come from Australia and are quite expensive. You have to pay extra for the new age adaptr plate. It's worth the money though. I had mine facing upwards to begin with but had to turn it 90° because it was starting to blow a hole in the padding underneath the bonnet ! CGS
moto Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Your car sounds cool Cal. I've got a similar set up with an HKS dump valve. I've never heard mine from outside! I think it's time to let a mate loose in it to check it out.
colin_ross Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Sounding sweet mate. Might get you to do the same for me (full blown launch styleeee) so I can finally hear it from the outside.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 No problemo Colin - I reckon a close pass @ the KH hairpin would be even better though
coulty Posted April 15, 2006 Posted April 15, 2006 Thats smart mate. Lovely sound and sounds like a good plan for later.

CGS" Glad to see its still getting put to good use Cal [] Car sounds ace! Now got another XS on mines after changing to front mount. What a sound eh! AWD in Perth have got copies of the turbo XS bov at around half the price of the turbo XS. Maybe give them a phone and see what the exact price is. Think they were about £80 or there abouts. Cheers Coulster
