st3ph3n Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Imy, don't listen to Grant. I have a 2:1 Honors degree attained with literally the bare minimum of effort. An afternoon study for each exam and 4 days on a project. I only missed a first by 2% as well! If I can do it anyone can.
wrxmania Posted April 17, 2006 Posted April 17, 2006 Imy has been there done that too Stephen - mega brain we have amongst us []

micra_wrc Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 yeah, this is my 3rd degree i'm doing St3ph3n (already have a BSc and MSc, this will be my 2nd MSc and 3rd in total) so have been through the mill a couple of times LOL. have 4 exams to sit in the next week then 10 months to do a 20,000 word dissertation... then hopefully i'll get the degree but on the +ve side, i'll be the only one grinning from ear to ear in the exam hall, cos i'd have driven my scoob from Glasgow to Heriot Watt Uni (outside Edn) [H] grant, quit growling at me, its hard to concentrate and resist checking the forum cos i know folk are replying to this thread! you're prob just bummed cos its sunny and ur wanting to polish my 'saltire blue' car heehee imy []

Well I spent 15 weeks solid from 9 am till 9 pm every day and ended up with a Desmond. When I was on my course no-one had had a first for EIGHT years and still no-one form my year got a first ( and only two got a 2:1) ! We also had all of our exam on 5 consecutive days and that was based on the material from both junior and senior honours(i,e 2 years of lectures in 5 days - pretty unfair IMHO). Fookers changed the structure the year after I left too ! If I had taken the Stephano approach I would be goosed. You either have the memory of an elephane or studied orange peeling techniques [8-|] Good luck Imy and study yer butt aff ! CGS
Kenny.S Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Nice choice [] I appreciate your decision to keep it standard but it may be worth checking it is indeed standard. My car looked untouched and completely standard in every way when i got it but i had infact been fitted with a piggyback chip (inside the ecu) in Japan. Apparently it's very common especially so on this era of RA. Dont want to be a profit of doom or scare mungering but when i bought the car i called in to see Andy.F on my way home and he checked the car over for me and it was found to be detting quite badly in 5th and that was on optimax and a bottle of octane booster. I can open my old standard ecu and get you the number off the piggy back chip if you want to check. By all means keep it standard but might be worth making sure all's well. Kenny
the squiggle Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Had the ECU open mate at point of inspection. Still had the plastic cover snug over the ECU and the socket was exposed with no chip in place.
Kenny.S Posted April 18, 2006 Posted April 18, 2006 Good stuff Mine still had the plastic cover, and the screws had a dod of white paint over them but they'd obviously put new screws in and re-painted them, crafty buggers! Kenny
