anyone know about 4:4 rsatio gearbox?

While the gearbox has been out and stripped up at Greers,Colin and Bill have told me that its has a 4:4 ratio gearbox.Can anyone tell me a bit more about its the pro's & cons of this ratio.i love the way the car goes through the gears and im just curious to find out a bit more.cheers Scotty.

Classic 97 STi Type-RA V3

My current gearbox rattles more than a Mr.T out jogging.

Thinking about maybe a 6 speed but as i dont use the car much and dont have much money i havent done much about it yet.

Hopefully pull my finger out this year and get my battle plan sorted.

Try looking at this Scotty,it tells you what ratios to specific model/year for transmissions,diffs etc.
