Can it be done? Where? How much?

One thing that bugs me about saloon cars is the lack of a rear wiper.  My questions are:

1.  Can you drill a hole in the rear window to fit a wiper or do you need to replace with a JDM rear window?

2.  Where can I get it done and roughly how much will it set me back?

Sound system = absolute sh!te.

3.  What speakers do you recommend, not all singing and dancing but a decent setup?

4.  I am going to get the car lowered on Tein springs and droplinks, can I still fit spacers to fill the wheel arch out so the wheels are flush with the bodywork?

Thanks in advance folks[;)]

Talizman aka John Reilly done a rear wiper conversion on his classic. I also believe a more moden looking Clio or Corsa wiper arm should fit the motor.

As for speakers (again a classic) I fitted Infinity 605 components in the front with 505s in the rear doors with a small Pioneer sub/amp tube in the boot.

As for the spacers I don't think that would be the best idea IMHO.

The head unit is total GASH so needs replaced even as much as the terrible speakers - it has no power (8 watts per channel  if I remember rightly).  The sound in the Impreza is not good acoustically so some sound deadening in the doors (ie Brown Bread film etc) is needed.

Good luck.

the no rear wiper thingy doesnt bother me anymore, its like everything else that bugs you about your motor you get used to it because you love all the other good points so much

RAIN X is probably the cheaper solution than a rear wiper and dont let your car get manky all the time and you have a heated rear window wich doesnt take long to clear

youre right the stereo is pretty poor best solution to that switch it off and listen to the burble better than music[H]

I agree with u G.T  but must say I like a good sing along in traffic going to work.

Just a quick thought on the wheel spacers.  Not a good idea in my mind as you'll get more stone chips on your arches which = rust = £ to fix

Oh,  do the infinitey speakers slot straight in?

I changed my own headunit and that was a big improvement straight away. Not got round do doing my speakers yet, probably get them fitted for me. I've got a 12" Pioneer Sub and Pioneer Amp sitting in my lounge that I should install sometime too.

Spacers are fine but your geometry will need re done and you will need to get longer wheel studs from Rally Design, Ears, or such like. Rule of thumb is you need to have at least the diameter of the wheel nut screwed into the stud, ie if the diameter of the nut is 30mm, you need 30mm of stud inside the nut.
