vicki Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Dan, what about a sierra cosworth? Guy across the street from me had a D reg, lightish blue one, well looked after, and it was amazing.

iain_spink Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Hi twentytwobee. Car looks good. Sorry, I meant to send you pictures of my car once I got it but completely forgot. They're on this site somewhere.(Thread : pics of your car) Looks like we share similar taste in classic cars as I too am a huge fan of Mk1 and MK2 RS Ford escorts having owned 2 mk2 Rs2000's, a MK2 mexico, 1300 sport,1600 sport, and a cracking MK1 Mexico factory built steel big wing. Incidentally, I know of a one owner (extremely rare) Mk1 escort twin-cam which was lying in a private garage not far from me which is in need of restoration. Now that would be an interesting project! Don't think the owner would part with it easily though, although everything has a price. Iain
gus the bus Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Fantastic story, fantastic car and great to see it rise from the ashes! [] ....and to see it back to an original condition. Gus
twentytwobee Posted March 9, 2006 Author Posted March 9, 2006 I had a really mint Escort Cosworth pretty much as good as my 22B which I managed to buy in the Isle of Man so it had done next to no miles. I had wanted one for ages but I cannot tell you how dissapointed I was with it. You cannot deny that it looks awesome but the useless gearbox poor build quality let it down. It did have nice handling and quite a lot of grunt in standard form but it just had to go.
