craig mac Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Guys and Galls As many of you know, many may not i am off in to ARI to have a discectomy. This is an operation on my spine to remove a herniated disc, which is rubbing on my sciatic nerve. They open me up and drill a hole in one of my vertibrae and with a little magnification and a tyre lever shift my spinal cord over a wee bit and cut the sticky oot bit aff, Hopefully the sciatic verve and spinal cord will be ok and golf coarse end of march here i come, if not!!!!!! Could loose the feeling/use of my left leg! To say am not nervous would be the truth, as i am on so many Morphs diazies etc for the muscle relief and pain i dont really care. In fact i feel like a space cadet and have done since Nov11th One thing i do care about is waking up with no pain and getting back in ma scoob, but again guess what ......No driving for 2 weeks, Cant sit for the first week must lae doon or stun up all the time...... So folks to all those who have already wished me luck "NICE ONE AND A HUGE THANK YOU" Hope to see you all soon. Craig

oletam Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 All the best. You seem quite upbeat about and that worked for me a few years ago when I had a bypass. Keep thinking positive.[]
craig mac Posted February 25, 2006 Author Posted February 25, 2006 Thanks everyone for your kind words, apart from the sex change comment......obviously you aint met me ...... LOL they dont call me the yeti for nothing[] as squirrell about the time we met and i shook his hand,..... has it mended yet grant? [] As for goodlooking nurses???? there is no such thing in uk nhs chop shops now....they all get graded and clear off over seas and get paid twice as much and work 40 hour weeks like a real job, not run into the ground doing a great job and paid peanuts in the great? britain. So they are all older midwife types now that treat you like a piece of meat as they are often treated like that by some ungratefull, disrespectful patients, Which is out of order coz they have one of the hardest jobs in the world, and deserve a lot more money than they get. Where would we be without the nurses that work and care for all sorts from 1 month old to 100 years old, how hard? As pain killers i have the whole shop in the cupboard now....from 90mg mst to vals, but the wee chinese needles work better and thats a fact, best £30 i ever spent, 15 needles stuck in me for 1 hour and it did more for the pain than any pill at any dose. Acupunture is the way AWESOME As for the Golf i am a full member at Portlethen, have been for three years, am still crap, but i enjoy it,and can drive a ball 300 +yards...after that is when it all goes pear shaped best round at porty 91 !! So again thanks for all the words many of you i dont know but hey who cares we all share one common thing the joy of the Scoob and no doubt we will all get to know each other the more runs we have and the more often i get off my ar** and get down to k/hill. Thanks again folks Craig
