mikeyjm26 Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I have got a problem with my MY98. Sometimes, not always, when in any gear from 2k to 3k revs the car really struggles to pull. Sounds as though it is going to cut out, but it doesn't happen all the time. Really strange as it doesn't happen all the time. Your thoughts and ideas would really be appreciated. Cheers Mikey
mikeyjm26 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks Dougster, I had the plugs changed last August, so I don't think it could be them. Might be the coil pack. Is it easy to replace? Thanks Mikey
Nelsdir Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Mine was the same - was also rough on a steady throttle below 2800rpm. Turned out it was the O2 sensor that was knackered. Neil
dougster Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 I have a spare O2 sensor if that turns out to be the problem.
mikeyjm26 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Thanks for the replies guys. I know that there was a problems with the lambda sensor and they had to replace part of the wire because the emissions where to high. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Dougster, how much for the O2 sensor? Thanks again everyone Mikey
dougster Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 £30 notes if it the right one but it came off my MY97 so should be OK.
RS Grant Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 Good to see its sorted out, within a day?! [H] Hope the car is going well apart from that Mikey, you decided to stick with it for a while?? Cheers, Grant
mikeyjm26 Posted February 20, 2006 Author Posted February 20, 2006 Hi Grant, I am in 2 minds. I have been looking at other Scooby's and if someone came along at the right price I probably would sell. It's not that I don't like the car, I absolutly love it, I just fancy a saloon. But I know I will be gutted when I do sell it. Also can;t get enough of the Subaru burble. Cheers Mikey.
RS Grant Posted February 20, 2006 Posted February 20, 2006 You could always keep a couple of the bits for yourself if you were to sell... To be honest, I dont think you'd have a problem shifting it if you advertised it at the right price. [] If you were going for a Classic Saloon then you could always keep a few of the bits from the wagon... Let me know what sort of money you are thinking about, I'll have a wee ask around and see if anyone round here fancies it. [H] Cheers, Grant
Johnny50 Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Mickey.... Dont forget, i want my private plate back before you sell. []
RS Grant Posted February 21, 2006 Posted February 21, 2006 Jesus... thought that would have been sorted out by now Johnny!! [] No wonder nobody waves at you in Edinburgh, without that plate, you are anonymous!! [] Cheers, Grant
mikeyjm26 Posted February 21, 2006 Author Posted February 21, 2006 No probs Johnny, I wouldn't sell it before giving you the plate back.
