Cheap motoring...

Recommended Posts

Waved goodbye today to the old Fiat Panda that I bought for Mrs. Plug some 18 months ago. Advertised it in the in the local rag, it was snapped up by a young lad who has just passed his test and liked the idea of group 1 insurance.. sod the street cred! Good luck to him..

So, total cost of ownership for that time -

Bought for £280

Fix knackered bonnet release - £15 (local garage)

Fix random electrical gremlin - £ 50 (local garage)

2 new tyres - £42 (local tyre/exhaust place)

New cambelt - £14 (fitted by me)

New distributor cap and rotor arm - £18 (fitted by me)

And sold yesterday for {drum roll} £250!! That's the kind of depreciation I can live with..

Cost per mile - possibly cheaper than walking. The joys of running a banger!

Cheers,

Plug
