1488 Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Howdy folks. I've got a 99 turbo with the orginal classic boot spoiler, I'm too keen on it as its abit tame. So I want to replace it, but theres so many different styles to choose from I can't decide which one to buy. Which one do you lot like the best. Also what year and model do those rear lights come from, the ones that are red on the top and clear on the bottom, will they fit on my car easy if I can find some at a scrap yard. And another one, Does the big subaru badge come of the boot without leaving any holes or faded marks. Cheers all
robert_harding Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 Welcome[] STI 6 spoiler, or a P1 spoiler if you can get one. the rear lights you mention are STI lights, good luck finding some..and you will pay a premium for em.
1488 Posted February 10, 2006 Author Posted February 10, 2006 thats one nil to the STI 6 spoiler. cheers mate.

ayde Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 DR Motorsport do replicas of the STI V & VI spoilers that come ready painted to match your car think they are on offer at the moment for £300, I would go for a version 5 on a MY99. They also do a toned down 22B spoiler which is slightly lower than the STI versions thats just under £400 painted and IIRC the upper sections angle can be adjusted. The rear lights are STI rear lights that where fitted to the JDM STI's they are a straight swap apart from they are missing the rear fog, so if your car is a UK version you will have to get a red bulb and do a bit of modding on the light cluster either that or fit an aftermarket fog light but the red bulb option will be neater and probably less hassle. You can pick them up for around £150 - £200 second hand or have a look round on the net for companies that supply new ones, a company in the states was doing new ones a while back for £175 but you would have to add shipping and taxes to that (cant remember what the company was called). The Subaru badge is just held on with double sided tape, to remove it you would be best running masking tape along the upper and lower edges of the lettering then warm the letters up with a hair drier or heat gun and then use a clean unused body filler spreader to slide down the backs of the letters keeping it as flat to the bodywork as possible or you can use dental floss to cut through the tape. Then remove the remaining adhesive with panel wipe. Ayde
