simon_marks Posted January 31, 2006 Posted January 31, 2006 I've owned MY00 from new and have omitted to make any modifications to date. I am concerned that any form of change could compromise the excellant reliability & handling & could impact my insurance. Am I being too cautious?
darryl_martin Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Got a PPP and a few other bits fitted to mine. Insurance up about £200 max over standard. Think its safe to say the engines can take a few mods but plan well and choose a reputable tuner. Some insurance companies insre you to a bhp figure. Think of the figure you want to achieve, speak to insurance company mentioning the figure, go to tuner see whats needed. Only thing is if your engine/gearbox are getting on a bit they may not take too kindly to suddenly having 300 odd bhp put through them etc. Dont forget the brakes. Have also been told that MY00 dont like induction kits and have taken mine off, and put a panel filter in.
leon Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 come to the next meet and meet some of us i have my99 with a rolling road figure of 273bhp with about £250 pounds of mods so up from 218bhp easy to achieve and ive been runing this power for over a year cong
