Timing belt on old skool

Afternoon everyone,

I have recently purchased a 94 - L wrx standard impreza and was wondering if anyone new when the belt should have been done. It has 72,000 miles and the seller doesn't know when it was last done (he has only done 5k in it), what sort of money should i expect to pay for a belt change at a normal garage.

I was also wanting to give it a quick service, is it a big job changing the oil, plugs etc?

Thanks for info in advance!

I would get the belt done anyway, if the previous owner isnt sure... then its more likely that it hasnt been done.

From a garage, I would budget at least £400 for a service and cambelt change on your car. face-icon-small-cool.gif

Greers in Ayrshire did a timing belt, plugs, engine oil and filter change and diff and gearbox oil change for £280.IMHO any car you buy you should do a full service for peace of mind!face-icon-small-wink.gif
