johns Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 We just found out a very short while ago that Tim Wilkinson, who was an SIDC member and used to own an Impreza before the Elise he has owned for the past few years was found dead at his house near Aberdeen last night. Currently there is no further information on how he died, reasons etc. I know a few of you who went to the first Golden Wheels event at the AECC a few years ago will have met Tim, as he had his red Impreza as a display car. Many more of you who went to our Alford event last year will remember Tim in his black Elise going around the sprint track many times, raising lots of money for the cash for kids charity. He even had their logo on his car for a few months. I last met Tim just a few months ago, and he was full of life, looking forward to next year where he was planning to compete in sprints/races etc in some form. More details will be posted once they are known. Tim will be very sadly missed John
Carl Davey Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Shocking news. I met Tim a few times and we once tailed each other to one of the Knockhill days when he had his Impreza. Thoughts go out to his family at this time of year.

Rob_D Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 John, that is indeed very sad news to hear, Tim was such a nice guy and we had many good days out at knockhill and Alford. Are thoughts are with his family and friends.
sarahbee Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 What a shock! John and I met him at our first ever golden wheels event and he took me for a spin in his car at the Alford day last year. He was a great guy. As everyone has said, he will be sadly missed.
jacqui_robb Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I havent been able to post on here for a while, but i did hear about Tim, and even though it's late, i felt that i had to post on this too. I was in shock when i first heard, and couldnt believe it - i'd only had an email from him the week before. Tim will be sadly missed, and was a great guy. I also met him at the Golden Wheels event, and had a great day, but i had met him previously at Crail with his lovely red scoob. It was my 1st time to Crail with Mr Scooby - and Tim was my 1st ever race! We raced all day, and still now, it was the best day out i've ever had at Crail We kept in touch from then, and it still seems unreal that he's gone. Tim, you'll be sadly missed mate RIP. love Jacqui.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted January 6, 2006 Posted January 6, 2006 This is a bit of a shock even though I didn't not know Tim at all really . We chatted a few times and I filmed his decatted Elise at Alford and we exchanged a few emails between our works addresses. I still had a 36Mb video of him and Tut and will contact the Elise boys in homage to his contribution to the Scottish Performance Car scene He was a dab hand at KH too......... rest in peace Tim.........
