gus the bus Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Folks I've decided that my next mod is gonna be a high level boot spoiler and my favourite is the Rallytech as sold by DRMotorsports in West Calder however @ £500!!!! Anybody know of suppliers of a similar type of spoiler that could do me a decent price (I would also consider a version 6/7 Sti one). Painting aint a problem as I have plenty contacts but it MUST be one which uses the original WRX spoiler holes through the boot. Cheers Gus DRmotorsport
colinj Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Bearing in mind that price comes painted I dont think you will get one cheaper unless you know someone in the know or find a 2nd hand/ebay one!! DRM have a good reputation on here aswell so Just hide the receipt from the Mrs & go for it
colinj Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Oooops just noticed the painting bit....i'll have a swatch on the net for you Maybe try PM'ing DannyD on here....he got me my classic STi spoiler!!!
gus the bus Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Colin, Your right mate and the quality does seem excellent (and the guy is local to me!) Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. You know what its like mate. I'd get it and someone would say ......"Oh er I could have got you one from blah, blah, blah for £350". I have to say that the others I've looked at other than genuine Subaru ones @ £800 haven't been up to the mark. Cheers Gus

I'll take it painted if thats the only option but I wouldn't have any bother getting an excellent paint job done. thanks Gus
colinj Posted December 18, 2005 Posted December 18, 2005 Yip sure im always the guy to buy something then be told a day later where to buy cheaper or its on special offer/sale!! Your making the right choice...spoiler really makes the car complete, theres that huge wine rack one aswell - lmao - bit ott but there?s a members car on here all stickered up with that one & it looks fantastic!!
gus the bus Posted December 18, 2005 Author Posted December 18, 2005 Aye, thats Gumballs old one thats now on Warby's motor eh! Looks bloody good. I bet Gumball wishes............................etc I've been looking for a few months but its the Rallytech thats taken my eye for design and quality. Thanks Gus
G.T. Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 you will be lucky to get a high level spoiler on without having to put more holes in your boot lid , my car has an sti spoiler on it and i was going to change back to the proper prodrive one but couldnt because of all the holes. I know a man who has a proper prodrive spoiler in wr blue would bolt straight on and no painting
gus the bus Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Aye, I'm finding that the Rallytech one is THE only one which uses the original WRX holes. I'm afraid I'm not a fan (sorry! ) of the Prodrive one. Its looking like the Rallytech is the thang for me. Just want to check out if there are other options I have missed. Cheers Gus
scoobyfuzzy Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 gus, speak to wilky, i know hes selling one pretty soon fuzzy
fai17 Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 G6RAY has a high level spoiler for WRX for sale for much cheapness. He never got to put it on his car as he rolled it on the way up to SIDC trackday back in september. I could let him know if you are interested as he is not on the forum very often now as he doesn't have a scooby anymore

st3ph3n Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 It was a saloon Gus. I'll never forget coming round that corner and seeing it in the field. It was a bugeye, but it should still fit yours.

I'll PM Peter and see which spoiler it was. Could be a wee Chrissy pressie to the Scoob fae me Cheers Gus
st3ph3n Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 Watch when you're fitting the new one that you get good seals round the various holes, and cover up the brake light cable hole if you're getting one without the brake light. I ended up with a wet boot a few times after fitting mine, but it's fixed now thanks to some double sided tape, some plumbing washers and a spoonful of GENIUS.
gus the bus Posted December 19, 2005 Author Posted December 19, 2005 Thanks Stephen, I have been warned about this already by Oobster who had problems with his when he first got it. Cheers Gus
Gumball Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 try scoobyworld before you dive into anything. i know they have original sti spoilers for the newage for about 250-350 they also have a rather sexy sti style with the top bar made out of carbon for about 350 too. i wouold
gus the bus Posted December 20, 2005 Author Posted December 20, 2005 Spoiler found! Thanks to Peter (fai17) I'm getting one from G6RAY who has an sti7 style one lurking about which he never got the chance to fit before his mishap en-route to Knocknhill.
