advice needed

heading home last night i was doing about 110 and accelerating in 6th gear when the engine cut for a second and the engine check sign on the dashboard lit up and is remaining lit.

the cars a standard uk 05 sti ppp, 2000 miles and id just filled it up with optimax.

it seems to be running ok, maybe a little bit more popping from the exhaust than normal

anyone any ideas? is it ok to run?

Personally I'd call out the Subaru recovery team to your door! better safe than sorry.

im sure someone like squirrel will post telling you what it could be.

lamda sensor, too much fuel getting in? i would only be guessing

yup, handy things private roads

im thinking perhaps a bad tank of fuel?

if the lights still on i wouldnt blast it or run it on boost until someone gives you the right advice on what it could be.

take it back to where you got it. Let them fix it, its still under warranty. Dont mention the private road.

As said, warranty job, could be one of a few things, EGT/Lamda etc etc they will be able to tell the speed though when they read the ECU to get the fault code.

.....it wouldnt have been boost/fuel cut would it??

I know I've been hitting slightly higher boost than I'm aiming for on a couple of occasions recently, I put it down to the very very cold, dense air though.

Your right there Grant, they have no basis for complaint, just saying that incase he says, well it just came on as I was driving along the street.

after switching the ignition on and off 3 times your em light will go out,although the fault code will remain in the ecus memory,could b that you have 1 ov the super efficient ppp's that is trying 2 make its power...LOL
