Gumball Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I havent got the best subaru for fuel economy and tend to get a maximum of 170-180 out the tank. kicking it somewhat produces even less and stands at the 120-130mark. For some reason with my tank that i just finished i havent been really taking it easy that much, raced a porsche 911 and a rather stealthy navy brue RA on the track and still managed to get.............. 162 miles out of the tank !!!!! wrf is going on?????????????????????????/
st3ph3n Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I get 220-250 out of 3/4 of a tank. I'm not trying hard enough it seems. Maybe the slippy roads have made you a wee bit gentler with the right foot? Or maybe someone has replaced your fuel tank with a bigger one when you weren't looking!
oobster Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I managed Bathgate to Nottingham on 3/4 of a tank last week - 335 miles. Never above 80 on the M74/M6/M61/M62/M1 though
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 You are using your brakes too much ........... Remember you are doing warm up's cool down's etc Still weird though Cheers Cal
Bing Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Quite agree with this phenomenon: High boost driving medium fast = 190-210 miles per tank High boost driving fast fast = 230 miles per tank!!!!! Low boost avarage driving = 350 miles per tank
vicki Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 I get 220miles from a full tank (£43). Does this sound about right for a Sunday driver?
jasonb Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 My fuel economy is great as my car is fuc*ed and in the garage i dont spend a penny on fuel
fai17 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Strange happenings m8. I got 450miles to my tank. Oh forget to tell yous thats my VW Sharan TDI auto.
Gumball Posted November 30, 2005 Author Posted November 30, 2005 << got 450miles to my tank. >> shat the bed !!! then i realised there was a drop down period on your reply to say it wasnt in the scooby. i was going to ask wtf you were doing to get that consumtion.
wilky Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Face facts Chris, you drive like you have a 20 league diving boot on your right foot. Just be happy your car goes as well as it does. Economy is the price you pay for preformance. Callum W
G.T. Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 think i get about 250 miles to the tank, not exactly sure as i never let it get to empty , as i have to leave enough to get to the nearest shell garage, and all the school runs during the week murders the petrol
oobster Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 On a similar subject.... How many miles can you get once the wee orange light has appeared?
spooks Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Ouch I thought mine was bad after getting a mere 200 outa a tank (I normally get 270-280 outa a tank) over the weekend but thats poor. Never run the tank totally dry but once the wee yellow light comes on I did manage to get another 40 miles before I decided to stop playing fuel tank roulette just in case Spooks
paddy247 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 chriss it seems rather erratic like your self Have you checked your lambda, I normally get about 200 to a tank
higgy Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hi all , on average i only get 180 miles out of a full tank . BUT IN THE SNOW IT WENT UP TO 385 MILES ON ONE TANK ................................scratch my head...lol higgy
scooby222 Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 i tend to get about 180-210 with my sti, used to get a maximum of 190 with my old my00. the red light and beep from the dash does mean im at optimum revs for maximum fuel effeciency doesnt it?
NightOwl Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 << I get 220miles from a full tank (£43). Does this sound about right for a Sunday driver? >> I'm with you Vicki. 200 odd miles for 40 odd pouds of Optimax. Strangely enough, the difference between having fun and being boring only makes about 25 miles of difference. Didn't know there was a light appeared! Not that brave to go that far!
Guest Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 tell ya wish i had bought an impreza as my VR6 only managed 290miles from £60 driving from manchester to home average speed from start to finish was 77 though!!!
