andy Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I wasn't going to post this in case Gumball shouted at me for pushing threads down, but it was sent to me today and I've spend ages going "Yup, remember that" and it's just too cool not to share so... How many do you remember?
dan_jess Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Weebles will wobble but they wont fall down!
dougster Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 That has got to be the only link that I have ever opened that took my breath away!!!!!!!!!!!! I am 37 this month and now about to e-mail my mum and dad who bought me about 99.8% (I had three little ponies) of items mentioned!!!!!!!!
oobster Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 thats a cracking site you found there, brought back a few memories. Especially the Evil Knevil one.
andy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 << I am 37 this month and now about to e-mail my mum and dad who bought me about 99.8% (I had three little ponies) of items mentioned >> First thing I did was email my folks and my sister. My folks because they bought me the stuff featured that I'd long since forgotten about and my sister because it was her "Girls World" I took outside and played "Sniper" with my air rifle
sharon_mccall Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Oh, oh, oh, fuzzy felt and tiny tears, I had these and absolutely LOVED them. Brings back some nice early childhood memories. (The rest was sh1t)
Gumball Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 walkie talkies, test match and cascade those were the days. that was 1978 BGWAMB (before gumball was a moaning barsteward)
dougster Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Grandstand console , Matchbox and Majorrete cars (with the slot track you stuck a pin under), Scalextric, Etch a Sketch, Rebound, CONCORDE???
andy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 There's a "Merlin" lying somewhere at my folks. God knows if it would work after all this time. I remember our neighbours have TCR Truck Racing and you could change lanes. You couldn't do that on my Scalectrix.
dougster Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I had a 2 x TR7, Pontiac fire bird and some mad zig zag JAM car on Total Control Racing. Scalextric are only now getting the hand of it with their digital racing. (or so I'm told) Peter Pan.
st3ph3n Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Some of that is a bit before my time, but some of it brings back lovely memories. I'm still young enough to be able to own some of these things and nearly get away with it.
andy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 One thing I do have is an original rubber keyboard (SAY TO THORIN "CARRY ME") Spectrum 48k that's never been out of its box. That should be worth more than the £50 quid paid in the late 80's.
st3ph3n Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 My 128K went to the childrens home I think. It only worked if you lodged a bit of lego where the DC power source went in. That was after I dropped it one day. There's great money in old crap on ebay. People will literally buy anything.
andy Posted November 17, 2005 Author Posted November 17, 2005 << It only worked if you lodged a bit of lego where the DC power source went in. >> Lego. Now there's the ultimate in creativity.....until you stood on a piece in your bare feet.
NightOwl Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 Can't believe I saw this thread. I was having a wee surf around yesterday morning and was looking at that very site. Great minds etc... One that isn't there that was my fave was a thing called 'Stock Car Smash Up'. Two cars that had funny cord things you pulled to get them going and when they crashed into each other the wheels, doors etc flew off. Brilliant fun. Maybe explains why I've watched the stockies at Cowdie for the past twenty years.
fai17 Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I never had any of them when i was young living in a wee village in hong kong. We played with fire crackers instead. Stick fire crackers in cow dung then blow the turd up.Remember them Imy?
