ScoobyAndy Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Iam guessing thats not too bad considdering his age. Though iam sure theres somewhere a lil bit cheaper.
herbie Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Ive never heard of anyones insurance premium as high as £250 per month (3K for a year!!) LMAO Im with Elephant, £550 per year, age 31 and 6 YNCB. I would insure the car yourself and add him as a 2nd driver
ScoobyAndy Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 << Ive never heard of anyones insurance premium as high as £250 per month (3K for a year!!) LMAO Im with Elephant, £550 per year, age 31 and 6 YNCB. I would insure the car yourself and add him as a 2nd driver >> There was a thread in the general section last week about insurance and there was a 17yo with a turbo paying over 3K a year and someone else just on the 3K and he was 200 so iam guessing that it isnt that daft a quote. All i got to say is thank god my insurance is all on a business policy
5cooby Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 well that was the quote anywayz and i cant drive but i suppose i could still have a look around julz xxx

Iaing Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 I wouldnt have thought you'll get much cheaper than 3k a year at only 20 years old. It is a group 19 car after all (20 if its an sti). His insurance will drop quite rapidly over the next few years, mine did. I was 23 when I got my scoob with 3 years no - claims I was still paying nearly 1.5k. Am now paying under a grand a year and am 25 in Jan. Remeber other factors can also come into the equation though such as location, where its parked etc etc. It all mounts up. Tesco used to be good for young driver quotes, have you tried them? Iain
5cooby Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 funnily your the only guy who seems to agree with me about the age thing lol(kiddin on) no i havent tried tesco's mate elephant.com norwich union wouldnt give him one because he was under 25 years of age. i know and appreciate what ur saying about where u park it etc i always put down garaged all though its not at the moment and ensure.com i think u had to be over 21 years old but my boyfreind was thinkin of insureing me aswell am sure he said it worked out cheaper for the scoob which he was pretty amazed as i was because i was expecting it to go up if u know what i mean thanks for your advice and comments Julz xxx
5cooby Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 mind you i don't think there will be much of a difference anywayz untill you'r at least 25 years old with it being a high performance car and all Luv Julz xxx
thephantom Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 elephant pay by card save much money the phantom
dipsy Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Try privelege I am getting a 05 jdm wrx sti on Saturday and the insurance is 657 but excess is 550 .That what my excess was on the uk turbo .I am 33 4NCB lost 15% last year with a accident on black ice
5cooby Posted November 8, 2005 Author Posted November 8, 2005 hi there. yeah i suppose i could try a few no harm in trying eh? btw do u guys think 5 grand is reasonable for a classic impreza??
andy Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Try A-Plan. Got me a good deal through Norwich Onion. I had zero no-claims due to being a company car driver all me life, but with letters from employers proving no claims had been mate I got an introductory discount. I'm about £800 a year, private & business. Don't worry they don't have Scottish branches. It was Swindon I dealt with and they were great.
5cooby Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 btw i forgot to meantion am eddie's burd am useing his log in name as mines wont let me in lol Julie xxx
Gumball Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 5K FOR INSURANCE IS ROUND THE TWIST MY YOUNG FRIEND try every single company you can find until you get it cheaper!!! if you get it for 2.5k then youve saved 2.5 and we can split the difference keep trying and im sure the effort will pay
5cooby Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 please excuse my very confused girlfriend. my insurance will be 1900 a year, which i think is not too bad considering my age
2559B Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 << please excuse my very confused girlfriend. my insurance will be 1900 a year, which i think is not too bad considering my age >> Not too bad considering age ........ about 150-160 a month. Good luck with it anyway mate .............. Hope to see you ripping about shortly !!! Ally.
G.T. Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 well when i 1st passed my test many years ago i paid 1100 quid to insure a mk 1 xr2 so maybe that isnt so bad afterall , why dont you just get a scooby sport instead
