sharon_mccall Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Right, Ruby sounds crap and i was advised that i don't actually need a turbo for her to sound good!!! So, I need to know - if i change my exhaust, will my sport sound like a "proper" subaru? If so - i want somewhere local(ish) to Grangemouth (But not Glasgow) Thanks, Sharon p.s. no smart arse comments plsft>
p1ggm Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 my mate shep just stuck an sfterburner on his sport...what a diff with only a back box highly recommended, easy to fit, anyone can do it i also run the afterburner rear box
dipsy Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Hello Ruby The Scooby get a full hayward and scott exhaust .
IanJ Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Sharon, Hypertech in Bonnybridge (Duncan) are fairly local to you and can be trusted to look after your Ruby. I believe any classic back box will fit the sport. Look for a 2nd hand one on here, or give Dunc a call and he can source one from a few different suppliers (incl magnex and hayward and scott i believe). Or i have a 5" Jasma back box and de-cat centre section that you can have (Not the sexiest but does the trick) Ian
weeb Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 hi ruby try CnC which is in glasgow at the airport, they will make you a back box for around £250. it will sound good!! i dinny have the number off hand but u find it on the forum. i stay in falkirk!! btw
seafar99 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Hello Sharon, I'm also running a sport(wagon) at the moment, bought a Blitz Nur Spec R backbox and middle section (3"Diameter) which was reduced at the end to fit onto my cat. Keeps the car road legal while producing the ' burble ' subaru flat four sound. Doesn't improve performance whatsoever. There's plenty stainless backbox's on sale either in the For Sale part of the forum or you could try e-bay then take it to somewhere local to have it 'doctored' and reduced to fit your system.Hope this helps. Cheers Craig.
sharon_mccall Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 Thanks to everyone for the advice. Will take on board everything that's been said and get something soon. I dont want to improve performance just the sound. Looking forward to that fantastic scooby noise ......mmm....
