paulc555 Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Hey all so this easy job of replacing the panel filter....... it doesnt seem to be a case of just unclipping the filter box top and swapping them over...with the box unclipped it only moves upwards about 1/2 and inch....I disconnected the cable from the MAF but this doesnt give me any more movement....any advice... i know i'm a complete idiot..but hey one of us has to be...we cant all be technical wizards......
paulc555 Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 need help.....arghhhh where is everybody.... i know your there.....????
Nelsdir Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 At the opposite end to the end thats open 1/2" there will be a few "teeth" that you'll need to slide the box out of. Just push it in that direction and it should come out. It wont just lift straight up. Bit of wiggling should do it (oo-err ) Neil
dougster Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Probably in bed as it's a bank holiday. It's a bit of a squeeze but you'll get there. The box should come off MAF side (no clips) allowing a little more movement.
paulc555 Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 so they are at the bottom of the box..its angled down into the engine bay...it just seems that the whole pipe section with the MAF has no movement at all......its not very flexible.... so i take it i wont get the lid of completely just enough to slide the old one out and the new shiny one in....
paulc555 Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 Dougster excuse my ignorance.....but MAF side is that the left or right side of the MAF pipework as you look at the car.....
dougster Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 Right side as you look into bay. The air box is angled down and it's down there where it's joined under the MAF sensor.
paulc555 Posted September 26, 2005 Author Posted September 26, 2005 job done...thanks guys........ just need to drive it now and see if it blows up....??? should be okay.... cheers
