so, whats the story and format as i have never been to one of these sidc or track days...?

i havent received any info other than a receipt from sidc and paypal - is there no ticket, driver numbers or anything - do i just turn up on the day and off i go ontrack?

i presume u can hire helmets - if so how much?

track prep so far:

complete coolant change and checked all hoses whilest changing my temp sensor, topped up charge cooler too

lagged my dp and exhuast

set up camber/4wd alignment

checked all hubs and suspension

set up boost for a very stable 0.95bar with very little overshoot (was at 1.27bar which made 352/336 - but got some knock and temps were a bit high)

ran tank empty of tesco 97ron and filled with ultimate and octane booster

arranged for slicks for my 17s and/or rain tyres if it rains (forcast says so...) with the extremley helpfull ronnie@wheelsaround

got 2 piece discs and mintex 1155 pads to fit saturday or may just use standard oem ones for track abuse (have about 60% pads left)

installed braided brakelines

changed gearbox oil and changed the magnatec oil that struans toyota put in for some millers 10/60 fully synth - just realised this when i picked up my new rad temp sensor - i wrongly assumed they'd use castrol 10/60 fully synth - oil smelled ok and looked fine however - only 2.5k road use luckilly

yet to fit oil catch can and fabricate new intake/heatshield - also got some exhuast lagging left to do - not too easy on the old jack and stands in situ!

also going to give it a good interior gutting/clean, exterior wash polish and wax and some rainx

anyone got any other suggestions, advice on things to do for car/me for track prep - really looking forward to this but 1st time trepedation is setting in....

cheers,

nyle

If you paid on-line, then you should have received an email to the address that you bought on-line with. There are quite a few attachments, and it was sent to about 50 people. Can you please check your email inboxes, including the junk mail one (depending on what rules you have set).

I only got two message rejections back, and they were because people had an incorrect address in the club shop.

If you can both send me an email to john@sidc.co.uk I'll forward on the emial sent to everyone with all the info.

Cheers

John

The only advice i could give to you going on track, is

CHECK YOUR OIL BEFORE/AFTER (bigends can go on cambers/bends)

DO A FEW LAPS THEN REST (tyres can get too hot, oil gets too hot, confidence gets the better of you) Kylie mode sets in....spinning around

ADMIT DEFEAT (theres some seriously good drivers, regardless of what car they are driving....let them past)

TAKE GUMBALL FOR A PAXLAP (he likes it a lot and isnt going on. poor soul)face-icon-small-sad.gif

Get someone to chock one of your wheels with a big stone rather than sitting with the handbrake on because you'll knacker your brakes if you do that.

Also, after a run see how close to the brakes you can get your hand without being terribly burnt. It's a fun game.

Also, take it very easy on your warmup session. Don't try and follow a noble round like I did.

Use your mirrors a lot too. If any of those wee radicals or ultimas are on track then they fair sneak up on you, and in the case of radical behind and Impreza then once they get too close to you you'll not be able to see them.
