gus the bus Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 As a fellow biker and Scooby owner its a sad and un-timely end! I didn't know Paul (before my time too!) but my thoughts are with his family and close friends. Gus
andy Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 As someone heavily involved in bike sport, it's always sad to hear this kind of news. Like the many, I didn't know Paul, but my condolences go out regardless.
willie Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I heard this yesterday via Cam. This is so sad. I knew Paul and had attemped to keep up with him and paxed with him on many of the SIDC 'old school' runs in that mad P1. He was such a good person - nothing was to much bother for him - and this is a tragic waste of a life. My thoughts are with you Kate and all of the many friends that he had in Aberdeen A really sad day.
dark Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Terrible, terrible news. Paul was a huge character and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Kate and all Paul's family & friends. Mark & Alison
sgscoobysti Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 I am so sorry to hear this tragic news. I have only just found out about this after chatting with Arlene. My condolences to Kate and their families. RIP Paul Shaun
Ninja Scoob Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Very sorry to hear that, thoughts are with the family.
scuba dou Posted September 23, 2005 Author Posted September 23, 2005 Message posted on behalf of Scott Cruickshank, one of our many Elise friends. Not a lot I can say, that has not been said. Like most people I remember the first time I met Paul. We did a run with yourself (Jools), Paul, Tut and a couple of others. I think that half the paint was blasted off of my Elise following the Scooby's that day. I remember following Paul on the back road from Grantown through the golf course and along the river. A never to be forgotten experience. Great guy will be sadly missed by many My thoughts are with his wife, family and friends. Scott
Rob_D Posted September 23, 2005 Posted September 23, 2005 Very sad news indeed Deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Kate and Paul's family. I've known Paul for quite a few years and have had many a tussle with him at Knockhill and Alford. He certainly enjoyed his life to the full and will be sadly missed. RIP Paul.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted September 24, 2005 Posted September 24, 2005 Only just noticed this thread ......... --- Rest in peace Paul --- I will spare many thoughts for Paul and his family tomorrow, I didn't know him but it sounds like he was a ridiculously popular guy. It would be nice to have black circles ( track stickers) for those going on track tommorow as a mark of respect......... Sounds like Kate will be in good hands with plenty of people to support her - she must let the good memories carry her forward Take care guys Best Regards Calum
scuba dou Posted September 25, 2005 Author Posted September 25, 2005 Message posted on behalf of Little Miss WRX. There are two significant events that I remember with Paul.........I went on the Tut Towers 2001 and flew ahead with Paul and his P1, myself, Ian Cook as pax and my little 94 in hot pursuit. He promised me a drive of his P1 and duly held his promise. The other was my accident up past Glasgow, I can't remember exactly, but apparently the road sign is still bent........I was still concussed and shocked from the accident, he drove me all the way down to Staffordshire, he didn't want any money, he just wanted to make sure I got home safely. There are plenty of other times when I came up to Scotland that I remember and to hear of this tragic accident is indeed saddening as the motoring world, his wife, family and friends have lost a truely outstanding gentleman. Please pass on my thoughts to Kate and his family. I am still in disbelief. Michelle.
nicholas_frame Posted September 26, 2005 Posted September 26, 2005 As a fellow biker and scoobie owner my thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic loss.
