clutdav Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Well as you can tell I was de-tango'd last night, so a big thank you goes out to Marc (aka Boyakasha) for doing the swap. I have now got Marc's de-tango'd headlights which clean up the look of the front end of the car, and also some silvertec bulbs in the rears. So no headlight baking for me - thank goodness! It makes such a difference to the front of the car - if you don't believe me have a look for yourself. Before Front Back After Front Back Nae bad eh? Dave
Gumball Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 where di you get the bulbs mate? one of mine has blown and im struggling to get another set in glasgow.
clutdav Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 Which bulbs as the main beam on the front headlights and the rear indicators are now changed? Dave
clutdav Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 << Looking good mate Iain >> Thanks Iain. How's the downpipe? You enjoying it? Dave
oobster Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Looks even nicer on your car than it does on mine What's next then?
clutdav Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 There are so many things that I would want to put on. It just depends on what I can convince the Mrs to let me put on. Let me think........ 1. Front Lip Spoiler, 2. Knocklink Indicator, 3. Decat Centre Section - not yet convinced on this one, 4. Strut Brace, 4. STi 10 Rear Lights - these are definitely going on the car if they fit, 5. Cut Down Front Number Plate - doing this this afternoon, 6. Engine Dress Up Bits................. I could go on.... Dave PS: What have you got planned next?
Gumball Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 i need to find the silver/orange indicator bulbs for the fron lights.
clutdav Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 I only had the silvertec bulbs for the rear indicators (are they the same as the fronts??? I think the front bulbs are smaller aren't they!!!) - I am assuming that you could just get them from a Halfords or an Autosave, although I don't know any part numbers I'm afraid. Sorry I can't be more help. Dave
Boyakasha Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Dave they are the same bulbs. I have been trying to get a set for Chris (Gumball) but they are out of Stock. I would suggest you order a replacement set in case you blow a bulb at some point, there was also a guy on Scoobynet selling them. I am sure it was DJ Dunk Marc PS car looks stunning in the flesh, keep up the good work Dave
Gumball Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 DJ DUNK's bulbs on ebay only problem now is that cause the co-op thrash your card at 100mph through their till and i had to order a new card...........paypal are being weird and i cant register my new number to buy stuff off ebay. nightare

Marc
craig mac Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Dave Looking good Do i recognise this car, same car park as cal, and it looks like am the newest edition to that car park 05 Sti WR Blue with grills etc.... Drop me a line Craig
imprezapete Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Looking we nice m8, who did you get to map it in the end then m8? What was it figures after the map?
st3ph3n Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Mmm. Detango. Wasn't sure about it before but I'm liking that. Still not sure about it on an 05, but I will consider it. Good looking list of mods you've got planned too dave.
stephen_cheyne Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Lookin good Dave. I was always going to ask Marc if he would mind doing mine but I took the plunge last week and did it myself. Looks so much better. Stephen.
G.Mac Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Looks fantastic!!!!, yours is the same colour as mine and now I deff want this, not sure where to start looking so was wondering if anyone had any instructions / links on how to do this, heard a rumour from a m8 that it involves baking them in the oven Graeme
clutdav Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 << Dave Looking good Do i recognise this car, same car park as cal, and it looks like am the newest edition to that car park 05 Sti WR Blue with grills etc.... Drop me a line Craig >> Hi Craig I did notice your car on Monday and Tuesday - I do believe I parked very close to you on Monday. We'll have to hook up for a costa with Cal at some point soon. << Looking well nice m8, who did you get to map it in the end then m8? What was it figures after the map? >> - the answer is in my signature. I got my remap done at Wallace Performance - I decided on it having talked to Boyakasha. I made 300bhp and 290ft/lb - that is with both cats still in. So not bad at all. She pulls so hard it is unbelievable - so I can only imagine what Boyakasha's 370bhp monster must have been like. Me thinks alot of fun. << PS car looks stunning in the flesh, keep up the good work Dave Boyakasha << Thanks chief and yes I shall Dave
oobster Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Jamie (H1 SOOB) done my headlights and he didnt need to put them in the oven - there's 8 or 9 wee screws that hold the lense on, then he poured hot water on them from a kettle to soften the putty stuff. No more mods for me dave, at least not this side of xmas. I'd recommend the strut brace - i dont drive mine hard and even so i still noticed a difference. How about a WRC-style front grille? Revolution do a nice one. Apart from that your car is stunning from the outside. I haven't seen many that colour but if i was going for an STi @ any point, it would be the same colour as yours P.S. Revolution also sell the SilvaTech bulbs for the indicators - think they are £15 a pair though. W21W's if i recall correctly.
stephen_cheyne Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 I put mine in the oven to start with on a low setting of 70 to 100 degC but got paranoid looking in every minute. Finally used a 'Cathay' type halogen heater and the wife's hair drier (not my own one as sadly I don't need one due to getting older!). Was a bit of a scuttery job but well worth it in the end. Really good instructions on how to do this by Talizman on scoobynet.co.uk or enter search for detango*. Stephen.
Iaing Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 << << Looking good mate Iain >> Thanks Iain. How's the downpipe? You enjoying it? Dave >> Hi Dave, went out to Alford tonight to see the folks and gave it some on the way home. I was grinning the whole way back (the girlfriend was the opposite!). The car seems to be transformed, smoother to drive and a noticeable power increase especially 2nd through to 4th gear. Not a huge increase in noise from inside the car either. It pops alot more too . No CEL light yet either, so fingers crossed it stays off. Trust me it should definately be your next mod! Iain
imprezapete Posted September 22, 2005 Posted September 22, 2005 Well all I can say is its looking very tastie!
