oobster Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 ....any chance of one of you telling the Mrs i bought them off you for a fiver? Now with pics....
zeolite Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 I have met your good lady wife and she doesn't strike me as being that gullible....then again she did marry you. Oh alright. They were an unwanted gift and cluttering up the living room so I was glad to get rid of them. I would have paid you actually if you had haggled.
st3ph3n Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 oobster, the way to work it is - "I just bought some mud flaps for the car dear. They'll save expense on repairing the painwork as they'll provide good protection from stones. They look nice too." "How much were they?" "Oh we got a bargain dear, the official Subaru ones sell for £130 a pair. I got a full set of these for about that. Bargain!" RUN!
wrxmania Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 She could look at mine on Wednesday night - if you were going - and I could tell her they were very cheap! Good flaps - make a big difference to the look of the car. Brian
Gumball Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 aye next time i see the two of you at a meet im going to tell her they were £158 from scott lowe LOL unless of course you clean my car for me and use meguiars everytime for the next 3 years.
oobster Posted August 16, 2005 Author Posted August 16, 2005 Just got them, hopefully get them fitted later tonight if it stays dry.... Has anyone fitted these (that happens to be online B4 about 7pm) - coz i was wondering if you need to take the wheels off to fit them?
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Read hear then prepare for a ball ache You will need a small drill and mucho patience ! Do not hurry this job
Racing Snake Posted August 16, 2005 Posted August 16, 2005 Yes you have to take the wheels off as there are holes to drill both front and rear. It takes just over an hour to do but is straight forward. You need a 10mm socket. Karl
st3ph3n Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 << Read hear then prepare for a ball ache You will need a small drill and mucho patience ! Do not hurry this job >> Or £30 and a trip to a local garage in my case!

A shame, but next time i'll be there.

RS Grant Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Looking sweet mate, was a bold move to go for red flaps.... cause if they were a shade off they'd look poo. But, look spot on to me!! Cheers, Grant
st3ph3n Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 << Took just over 2 hours to fit, didn't help that I couldn't find the handle for winding the jack up and down >> SNAP! I was using my jack 2 weeks ago and couldn't find the handle. Ended up using the screw driver as a makeshift one. When I bought the car Motorpoint had forgot to put the tool pack back in the car, or it had never been supplied with one, and I can't remember for the life of me if the handle was in the packet when it arrived in the post and if I've lost it somewhere. Are the tools supposed to go somewhere? I've just got mine in the glove box.
Racing Snake Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 They look great I was wondering what colour you had gone for. I've got the same stickers on mine. Nice high wing where did you get that from? Karl

Mine is clipped under there. took me a while to find it. Iain
st3ph3n Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 That's one place I've not looked Iain. I looked in the tool pouch and on the Jack itself before throwing my hands up in disgust.
wrxmania Posted August 17, 2005 Posted August 17, 2005 Yeah, that is where mine is!! I'll have my Scott Lowe flaps with me tonight (oh and the car ). Brian
st3ph3n Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 The handle was there after all. I look like quite the fool.
