~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Folks, Had a few Pm's and people asking, hence - 1) Car is fully back on the road complete with new burble and 40k service complete - mucho chuffed 2) Just back from 3 week trip in Canada hence lack of posting..... Holiday was immense and had to suffer a Canadian Mondeo equivalent for the duration. It had a 3.5 V6 engine but handled like a duck with diahorrea ( Pontiac Grand Am ) Toronto & Montreal were full of Scoobies and also spotted a Lambo Murchielago. Saw an Evo 400 too which made a mental noise and appeared to move like a snail until the turbo kicked in. The lag on that car is mental but when it kicks in it's goodnight vienna ! Saw lots of the new Mustangs which were quite cool. the roads are very maintained but soooooooo straight and boring until you get into the mountains. I can confirm that they were also traffic cops with laser guns all over the joint but never got pulled as I dialled a sensible speed into the cruise control So im summary I'm back on the scene and will be back on the runs after 3 of my 9 points fall off on the 15th of next month Here's some of the things we got up too on the tour ( they were a tad scary on occasion !) Jet boating White water rafting See y'all around guys Cheers Cal p.s lots of you at the Fintray hill climb today
clutdav Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Howdy Cal, Looks like you guys had loads of fun - jetboating looked a hoot, as did the rafting. We'll have to go out for a run in the scoobies one lunchtime or atleast grab a coffee, as I am getting the K&N Typhoon INduction kit put on the car tomorrow. You got a new exhaust now - new burble??
st3ph3n Posted August 15, 2005 Posted August 15, 2005 Cal, you should speed all you want over there. They just fine you. No points or nonsense like that. When I was in Canada a few years back my mate and all his friends were racking up fines like nobodies business. Nice country though. The mountain roads really were great, but the straights were oh so very straight. We hired some scooters for a day. £12 for 24 hours. I only had my provisional at the time, but we just fobbed the guy off with a lame explanation. There ended being 6 of us driving these things in formation. Had great fun going down hills, running 100+ octane race fuel. Everyone tucked up behind each other looking for the draft then slingshot past. Great laugh.
~ ~ Cal ~~ Posted August 15, 2005 Author Posted August 15, 2005 Dave - sounds good - is that thing MAF friendly as I may consider one if it is The exhaust is still a WR Sport BB but is now mated to an Afterburner unresonated centre pipe and Afterburner decat centre - very burbley and very bassy - me like it very much from 0 - 6000 revs Stephen - initally i was nailing on the highways until i saw the signs they had up sayng that if you were caught doing a paltry 80 mph you'd be fine about $270 ! Feck that Talking with my cousins they tell me that they do have a points system and start off with 10 and if you drop to zero it's by bye license. This was for Ontario so it may be different elsewhere Cheers Cal
