How hard do you think it would be to convert a 02 Bugeye front end to a 03- Blobeye front end......

I have seen it done but I have no idea of what would be involved on converting the front end to the newer shape.

I will have the car for the next 4 and a bit years so I was considering this as a 2-3 year planned mod.

At a guess I would need new side wing panels, bonnet, bumper, light clusters, spot lights and grill.

Anyone else know what I would need and how much it would cost for a mod like this......

Also how would the insurance take such a mod?

Hi Pete.

personally i wouldn't even attempt it.

the cost would be too much.i don't even want to have a guess.

you would be cheaper to trade yours in and get a new shape.

you'll never know how good a job the painter is going to make.

so its not worth the grieve m8.

you would be better to spend that sort of money toward engine modsface-icon-small-happy.gif

Well put it this way, I was told that my car was worth £8k in a trade in. I've now lost £4.5 since January.

Getting a Blobeye car is not a option by the looks of it.

2 x Front wings

1 x Bonnet and scoop

1 x Front bumper

1 x bumper panel

2 x headlamps

Cost just depends on how cheap you can get the parts.

Approx cost for job done would be around 2K I would say. Just depends on colours too.

If you got the front end from a silver car then it would be face-icon-small-cool.gif but chances of that would be slim I guess

then it would still be woth 8K.

why dont you just get the headlights changed with the black morrete thingys. they look well smart. I have a real afinity with Blue STI bugs with these lights.

re spray, new scoop, morretes, spoiler= dog danglies.

what your talking about would cost and arm and a leg i think. i'll buy your leg off you if you want? my right ones a bit heavy and i could do wi changing it

What I was think was....

I would buy the parts second hand or off crashed cars that way I can get the panels/parts cheap. I know a sprayer thats good as I have had a previous job done buy him before.

2 bumper resprays came to £240 and his work is good.

Is there any internal parts I would need to replace to attach the panels and bumper to?

I think the lights and the bonnet will be the most expensive. But as I said this a long term project, what mean by that is that I will get the parts when and if they come up.
