imprezapete Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 How hard do you think it would be to convert a 02 Bugeye front end to a 03- Blobeye front end...... I have seen it done but I have no idea of what would be involved on converting the front end to the newer shape. I will have the car for the next 4 and a bit years so I was considering this as a 2-3 year planned mod. At a guess I would need new side wing panels, bonnet, bumper, light clusters, spot lights and grill. Anyone else know what I would need and how much it would cost for a mod like this...... Also how would the insurance take such a mod?
fai17 Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 Hi Pete. personally i wouldn't even attempt it. the cost would be too much.i don't even want to have a guess. you would be cheaper to trade yours in and get a new shape. you'll never know how good a job the painter is going to make. so its not worth the grieve m8. you would be better to spend that sort of money toward engine mods
imprezapete Posted July 31, 2005 Author Posted July 31, 2005 Well put it this way, I was told that my car was worth £8k in a trade in. I've now lost £4.5 since January. Getting a Blobeye car is not a option by the looks of it.
SCOOBYTOO Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 pm custom dan.now danny d hes done it! looks good too
jamie_wood Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 2 x Front wings 1 x Bonnet and scoop 1 x Front bumper 1 x bumper panel 2 x headlamps Cost just depends on how cheap you can get the parts. Approx cost for job done would be around 2K I would say. Just depends on colours too. If you got the front end from a silver car then it would be but chances of that would be slim I guess
Gumball Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 then it would still be woth 8K. why dont you just get the headlights changed with the black morrete thingys. they look well smart. I have a real afinity with Blue STI bugs with these lights. re spray, new scoop, morretes, spoiler= dog danglies. what your talking about would cost and arm and a leg i think. i'll buy your leg off you if you want? my right ones a bit heavy and i could do wi changing it LOL
derek_robertson Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 As you posted..........you're MAAAAAAAADDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Del
imprezapete Posted July 31, 2005 Author Posted July 31, 2005 What I was think was.... I would buy the parts second hand or off crashed cars that way I can get the panels/parts cheap. I know a sprayer thats good as I have had a previous job done buy him before. 2 bumper resprays came to £240 and his work is good. Is there any internal parts I would need to replace to attach the panels and bumper to? I think the lights and the bonnet will be the most expensive. But as I said this a long term project, what mean by that is that I will get the parts when and if they come up.
Gumball Posted July 31, 2005 Posted July 31, 2005 << or off crashed cars that way I can get the panels/parts cheap >> Pete, seriously mate have you had some bad news? or have you been on a bender since friday teatime? have you been hanging about with colombians all week end?
