des_curran Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 I fitted a baileys evo d/valve yesterday morning and had a k-n filter and magnex de-cat fitted at hypertech in the afternoon, the car is running great and the turbo seems to spool up quicker but now the exhaust pops and bangs quite a bit when giving it some stick, it sounds great but is this normal or is there something wrong ? Cheers
Iaing Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Mine does it also, sounds wicked but im not sure its healthy? I have similar mods Iain
des_curran Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Ye i think it sounds fantastic, my other half dont like it though.lol
Johnny50 Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Wouldn't worry, just the norm on a decat with VTA dump valve. Just enjoy.
harry_hood Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 lol i took of my old scorpion back box yesteday and fitted a scooby clinic back box ,the wife wont even sit in it now
the squiggle Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Nothing to worry about, it is only the unburnt fuel expolding in the exhaust. Start to worry when it does not POP as this will be the fuel entering your sump and making the oil nice and thin. Increase the frequency of your oil changes would be my advise to stop the oil going to thin Grant
des_curran Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Cheers for the replys guy's Grant: The oil gets changed every 3500 miles with motul 15/50 i take it that is ok ?
the squiggle Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 That is a good frequency and a good choice of oil Grant
des_curran Posted July 22, 2005 Author Posted July 22, 2005 Its due an oil change just now i think i might take a run out to hypertech this afternoon and book it in for a service and order new discs and pads while am there, i was trying to hold off changing the fronts until i could find a set of 4 pots to save buying discs and pads twice but the brakes are s**t and i need them done asap.
