wilky Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 CLM at sighthill, for the prodrive setting its about 40 earth pounds.
Johnny50 Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 11 Bankhead Drive, Sighthill Indstl Est, EDINBURGH, MIDLOTHIAN EH11 4EJ 0131-4585559 Best to phone and book, as he works on his own and is fairly busy.
JamesF Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 I go to CLCM all the time for my tracking and can't sing the guys praises enough. I wasn't aware he had a note of the Prodrive geometry settings though or I would have got it done when I last got the tracking done. If your getting the prodrive geometry settings you could do worse than change the rear drop links for a set of whiteline steel fella's. They replace the subaru plastic ones and are supposed to totally remove any undesteer from the front when matched up with the prodrive settings. Demon Tweeks sells them, they cost about £60.
Gumball Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 << They replace the subaru plastic ones and are supposed to totally remove any undesteer from the front when matched up with the prodrive settings >> in theory YES In relaity NO last week i understeered like santas sledge into a field. not invincible, but do help
JohnSt Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 If you believe, just changing some drop links can totally transform a cars handling, you've been drinking to much 'Snake Oil' ---john---
JamesF Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 << If you believe, just changing some drop links can totally transform a cars handling, you've been drinking to much 'Snake Oil' ---john--- >> If you read my post you would have seen that I said combined with the prodrive geometry settings they make a big difference not that drop links alone are the ultimate handling mod.
chesney Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 In theory stiffening up the rear ARB WILL help to stop understeer so assuming the steel links are more rigid then it can only help. Plastic ones probably flex a tad more. Better off putting a thicker ARB on though I'd expect. Have a thicker ARB on the rear of my pug 205 Mi16 and it makes the back end even more twitchy. You thought oversteer was bad enough on a std 205, mine is way more fun!!
Edinburgh-Chris Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Howdy, Just noticed this thread and just had to not that i had my car up at CLCM this afternoon for the full works and can't point out more that my car has been transformed from "the Boat" to "DAS BOOT" yeehaaa!!! for £47 my car handles like it was built to! No more funny pulls and strange steering wheel line up, she whispers MORE PLEASE into fast corners. On that note, does anyone know where i can get my arches rolled/ cut and painted in the Ediburgh area, new alloys are scuffing a little. All the best people, Chris
st3ph3n Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 I must say I do enjoy the handling of my '05 WRX, but coming from the front end lift king Vectra I can't hounestly say I'm comparing it to much. Would i notice the prodrive geometery differences in day to day use or only really on fast road/track day? If I was getting droplinks done should I do them first then get the geometery setup?
Derek FKS 85 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Hi. You most certainly would notice the difference, especially on the road. It's not important to have the settings done before changing the droplinks.
JamesF Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 Drop links are the next mod on my list, just waiting on the visa cooling down a bit
clan2_uk Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 As I have decided to keep my scoob for at least another year, does anyone know of any one that does the prodrive settings in the Glasgow area.
